Laughable because you say so? He's universally recognised as being one of the most technically brilliant boxers active today, aswell as having an exceedingly high ring IQ. I'm sorry you don't agree.

    Ring IQ in action:

    :D

He's beaten Pacquiao, the #1/#2 p4p fighter on the planet, at least once, and I personally believe twice. Any objective boxing fan would recognise that. And MAB.. JMM stood there and traded with him at times, you clown.

NEWSFLASH - STANDING AND TRADING WITH A FELLOW ATG MAY BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH.

Got the win in all 4 fights. END OF. You could make an argument for most fighters 'struggling' in certain fights. Got the wins, that's all there is to it.

Norwood was a certified robbery, John was 50/50 but got the home decision, Mayweather came into the ring 150lbs +, and as I stated before, I believe JMM had the best of the 3 fights with Pacquiao.

To call JMM the most overrated fighter of the last 20 years..:patsch. Watch more boxing.

I love the Marquez bros and JMM happens to be my fav fighter still active so it's hard for me to be objective. All three are greats/ATGs and have brought us most of the best fights of recent times TBH.

JMM has the edge in longetivity & counter punching, Morales with the best jab and straight out of the trio, and Barrera has the best left hook to the body or head and probably defense too.

I think its a "present bias" when ranking JMM as he's the only one left still relevant and funny a few years ago more people would not be so adamek to truly place JMM with the other two legends. More fair to judge them when their careers are over or until JMM stops being elite which I hope lasts as long as possible lol.

Which is a great point. He can continue to get closer to Morales and Barrera with one more big win and a little more longetivity.

Styles make fights. Morales and/or Barrera could've done better against Norwood and John(had JMM winning those but not my point). It's subjective. We can only rank them objectively on how they did against the competition they fought, how well they moved up in weight, etc. u know the facts.

Yeeessssss! Also think Barrera may have had the better prime but they're getting close as Marquez keeps being elite during longetivity.

    I love you Joe

    1. El Terrible - Only lifeform to whip both Pacman and Mayweather in their primes. A human couldn't do that.
    2. Dinamita - If you think he lost to Norwood, John, and Pacquiao you are a ******* which means YDKSAB. JMM is one of Don Nacho's greatest pupils. Not quite as perfect as El Finito, who was art in motion when fighting, but came closest to the Beristein prototype.
    3. MAB - What to say about Barrera? The Baby Faced Assassin. Ultimate badassdry. This guy basically gave the 2 finger salute to the whole world, a big **** YOU, and had the last laugh when everyone thought he had no chance in hell in his comeback and fall to favorites Morales and Hamed, the stars of the division. Hailed as the next "Gran Campeon Mexicano" and heir to be Mexico's next star as Olivarez, Saldivar, Sanchez, and Chavez had before him, MAB stumbled on the way, but cameback to prove the world wrong. He did a complete 360 with employing a rapidfire, counter style and with a precision that rivaled Floyds. Who knew a pressure fighter as ferocious as MAB would box so well? So well he took both superstars Hamed and Morales's 0's? At times could display a ferocity and explosiveness especially in his first fight with Morales. Not since Tyson and until more recent Pacquiao had I seen such effective rage/explosiveness.

All in all these 3 are/were great and really can go in any order.

Marquez beats both H2H and in Longtivity. He also has a pretty decent resume if your not just looking at it on Boxrec. Questionable decisions in all 3 PAC fights, questionable loss to John and Norwood aswell. Has been in the top 5 p4p rankings for over 5 years.

In this prime, Barrera was a beast. I thought he beat Morales all 3 times. Gave boxing one of the most entertaining ass-kickings they have ever seen. And a past-prime version gave Marquez fits, even knocking him down. A prime version would be a 50/50 fight.

In all honesty, they're very close in ability during their prime. It's hard to pick the wrong guy.

Can't forget a prime Salido, who is now among the elite at Featherweight, nor a prime Diaz, who outsized, out-sped, and out-youthed him significantly.

    1) he's universally recognized as being one of the best counter punches in the business, yeah, but universally recognized as not being good on the front foot. he struggles big time when forced to come forward. his WHOLE game is to counter punch.

don't be sorry that i don't agree with the ring IQ. he's good but not great. to assume anything else is to massively overrate.

hopkins, calzaghe, mayweather, monzon, foster etc etc have high ring IQ's. marquez does not. there is a huge difference between the two.

    2) i never disputed that marquez should/shouldn't get the decision over pac did i? for the record i had marquez winning the the first with pac winning the second.

haven't seen the third fight yet. i've got it on disk but have been too busy lately.

MAB was shot. end of story. AND he nearly knocked him out. barrera didn't have much pop on his punches at super feather either.

    3) he did get the wins, yeah, but he struggled with them all. badly. either they were shot, way past prime, not very good to begin with, or very easy to hit. not the work of a ATG genius now is it? to think otherwise makes YOU the clown.

    4) norwood wasn't a robbery. go and watch the fight to see that marquez refused to let his hands go. norwood won the fight. same goes for the john fight.

marquez IS the most overrated fighter of the last 20 years. especially if people call him an ATG genius with a high ring IQ. he's nothing of the sort.

i've been watching boxing for over 20 years. so i watch a lot of boxing.

for you to think so highly of marquez for doing so little, i think it's you who needs to watch more boxing. go to YT and watch fighters from the past to see what a true ATG looks like. and to see what a high ring IQ actually looks like as well.

    thanks for your time.
