Huh? Are you saying Pac vs PBF would generate a LITTLE more than PBF vs Cotto?
Even the most conservative estimate it would be ($120 mill PPV + 20 mill gate) that would be 70 million for PBF if he loses and that is not counting his other revenue source as a promoter.

At an agressive estimate (2.5 million x $70 + $25 gate = $200 million or about 100 million for PBF).
And some people are even estimating 3 mill PPV + $30 gate.

And PBF just left it to the judge versus a popular fighter. A fighter that the crowd was rooting for. And the score to some fans should have been closer.
And PBF is the highest paid boxer, probably the 3rd most powerful man in boxing, fighting in his home town, where a REAL JUDGE did him a favor in his unpopular case and fighting a foreigner vs Pac.

Seriously, don't make it sound PBF is in danger of losing a decision when he never has, including the Castillo fight. Hell he won vs ODLH on a close decision - when PBF was much less popular compared to now and ODLH was Las Vegas' Golden Boy.

No i'm not saying that at all..where did I say it would generate a little more than Cotto.

I'm saying they would split $100,000,000...It doesn't matter what Floyd is in danger of..we are talking the negotiations..

De La Hoya and Floyd ended up splitting $79,000,000....Oscar took $52,800,000 and Floyd took $26,200,000.

The fight will do more than Oscar-Mayweather, yes...thus they won't split $79,000,000, they would split $100,000,000.

Out of the $79,000,000, $23,300,000 of that was guaranteed to Oscar and $10,000,000 was guaranteed to Floyd...Oscar then took $29,500,000 off the $135,700,800 and Floyd took $16,200,000 of that same number.

So we agree in that it should NOT be 50/30/20 to winner.

I guess we are 5% in dissagreement..I think it should be 60/40 to Floyd..you said 55/45 to Floyd.

I just think based on the past purse splits, ppv numbers in common opponents, and revenue produced, $40,000,000 is very generous because it would give Manny $15,000,000 more than he has ever made.

At 55/45 for Floyd, Floyd would only make $5,000,000 than he ended up with for Cotto, while Manny would make $20,000,000 than highest payday. While Manny brings attraction, he is on the B side of this negotiation.

60/40, assuming they end up splitting $100,000,000 total is very fair.

you're totally right. i know it's been posted on here before. but that is the reason ufc is getting so popular. the fights people want to see happen. i know the politics in boxing make it difficult for big fights to come through; with greedy promoters and whatnot. but there honestly needs to be a cooperative effort from all parties involved in the boxing world to make fan friendly fights happen to insure the survival and vitality of the sport we all love.

60/40 to me would be borderline. But I am not Pac. Pac saying no or yes would be OK for me. Though I would rather see 50/40/10 than a hard 60/40.

    Cool:good

$32,000,000 guarantee plus $18,000,000 off of the PPV profits is $50,000,000.

It isn't hard to believe...he did $25,000,000 plus $16,000,000 off of 1,250,000 buys with Ortiz...he did 1,500,000 with Cotto and $94,000,000 in revenue. To suggest that he will take home $18,000,000 of that is not reaching by any means. He did less revenue and less buys and did $16,000,000 on that...suggesting he'd make $2,000,000 more off 250,000 more buys is not reaching.

No, I don't think you do as you didn't address it, but rather, went on about the credibility of Floyd's numbers, which I hadn't questioned.

Floyd would not take this, he offered 0% of the revenue, and didn't budge on it. This is a fight expected to break PPV and fight revenue records. Either he doesn't want the fight or is looking for the biggest heist in history. Pacquiao has reasonably said he is willing to take less than Floyd with his gauranteed purse, but the split in the revenue had to be 50-50. That says the fight should be easy to make if Floyd is serious about making it.

Anything other than an even split doesn't make any sense. As Aramini stated above, Pacquiao can make a ton of money fighting anyone. Both Mayweather and Pac are putting similar PPV buys down in each of their fights. Comparing their take home purses doesn't make any sense - Pacquiao shouldn't get a lesser split just because he's in a shittier promotional agreement with Arum skimming what I assume to be 30% off the top.
