    Source?

When I saw an interview with Bute, Bédard and Larouche. They said the foot problem is long gone, we are ready, the 3 days break was beneficial and everything is fine. So I dont know what you are talking about.

Probably unsold tickets from the canadian market. Happens all the time. They'll be gone shortly I'm sure.

I remember from the Kessler-Froch fight. Suddenly there was 500+ available tickets due to the british demand being less than expected. Those tickets was sold to danes quicker than you can drink a cup of earl-grey.

I think there's only two logical explanation:

1- They indeed want a reason in case they loose

2- They are trying to make people talk about the fight.

Of course I'm bias, but in my view the no. 1 makes not much sense.

    Option 1:
1a) Bute already have a rematch clause. There's no need to make this fight a drama in case of a lost because they can already make a rematch in Canada nonetheless.

1b) In my view the fact that they got the rematch in Canada, a judge from Québec, another from USA, the ref from USA, etc. makes me believe that they accepted a very low money input from Froch's team. If it's not the case, Jean Bédard is probably the best promoter from now on (in a 50/50 money for exemple). So if they accept a fight abroad, with not much money, the belt on the line, etc. Now he is afraid, chicking out or something?

Option 2: They could not be backed by a major tv network in USA, so for sure the fight are not hyped as it should be outside the hardcore fans of boxing. It was never the way of Interbox to trash talk, it's not the way of Bute to trash talk, so the fact that they use another strategy to make some waves are not that remote as a possibility.

In my view (bias as I already said) I dont see it the way you see it. You might be right though and if you are, I wont be happy about it and will be on this board, the same I was after the first offer to Johnson.

Until then, I think team Bute deserve to be consider genuine, when and if it happen, then we can bash on Interbox.

Even though the toe thing exists still it shouldn't be used as an excuse.

Bute and his team had the possibility to postpone.

the source is from the romanian press; the TS is a little confused when it comes to details like this but he's also very eager to talk about Bute.

    That was one fine post!

As you may or may not know, it's not like I really believe that it is excuses per se, but I do genuinely find it odd that this info streams out of Bute's camp. I cannot see it giving him any edge or benefit whatsoever which is partly why I put a satirical angle on the OP. The other reason being my Bute-hater genetics.

playing the devil's advocate here (personally don't believe this, but still), about 1a) there is another fact that should be taken in consideration: a rematch in Canada would be a huge financial success , maybe bigger than Bute-Ward in LasVegas/NY backed by Sho or HBO. There are quite a few conspiracy theories that could be thrown out there.

I would not use the term "leaking" in the first place.
The toe issue was a potentially serious threat to the match, so they openly had to explain what happened (and the consequences: hospital, no training for several days) for the case they were they obliged to postpone the fight. It was not the case, but the danger was real, so why don't publicly talk about?! That issue is no longer of actuality, so one should simply drop it.
The recent nose related case is a non-issue born dead. It happens very often to have little importance nose irritation when changing climate zone (or even the air from a place to another), and the disturbance was probably real but in all likeliness it couldn't have significant physical consequences (Bute has not suspended his training sessions). The only funny part is the anecdote: Bute cannot treat it with usual drugs because they could popup as doping, so he drinks many cups of tea. At most this part could have been said with the aim of being convivial and producing some smile.
Anyway, the excuse hypothesis seems very unlikely: consider that the story about the causes of Bute's mental blackout in the dying time of the first Andrade match was not meant as an easy post-fight excuse but was an explanation made public only after the second Bute/Andrade fight, at a time when the main point had already been settled.

I read the news about Bute's cold. I don't think they are trying to prepare some 'health excuses' in case that Bute fails.

They are trying to hype the fight , stir waters , make people to talk about this fight and bla bla bla :yep
