Mayweather sells more PPVS, generates more revenue... What else is there to look at when trying to decide how much a fighter gets paid? He makes more per fight, with common opponents as well. He deserves more, not much else to it. Those who are arguing Pac deserves more are basing it off their love and how popular he is in mainstream media. That **** obviously doesn't translate directly to revenue since his fights constantly generate less than Floyd. Not hard to understand why Floyd won't offer him 50/50 when he's not generating the same revenue as Floyd.

Personally, Pacquiao is the second biggest fighter when it comes to PPV now, so to say he's not a cash cow sounds quite ridiculous. Maybe he doesn't sell as much as floyd, but he's not that far behind, not far enough to get screwed in the negotiation table, that's for sure.

 

He isn't being screwed on the negotiation table...$40,000,000 is $15,000,000 more his highest payday. Floyd made $50,000,000 with PPV profits with Cotto. Even at 60/40, Manny still makes $15,000,000 more his highest payday while Floyd would make $10,000,000 more his highest payday. :good

It MIGHT be, but look at it this way...Cotto took 8mill cash, and SOME of the ppv upside if it did well....Pac didnt get ppv upscale, cuz he got 40 mil cash, which is by far more than Cotto got...not only that, but pac is not as big of a star as he used to be...Cotto vs Marg got the same amount of ppv's as pac has been getting lately...It aint as greedy as u think...Floyd is basically offering a small star more money than he deserves

This fight does 3,000,000 PPV buys and they would end up with $105,000,000 as the total split.

Let me break it down for you since you don't get it.

De La Hoya Mayweather has Oscar pulling in the highest payday of $52,800,000 while his opponent, Mayweather, pulled in $26,200,000, for a total of $79,000,000.

Of that $$79,000,000, Oscar was guarantee'd $23,300,000 while Floyd was guarantee'd $10,000,000; there is your $33,300,000. The fight ended up with $135,800,000 in revenue. Of that $135,800,000 Oscar took $29,500,000 while Floyd took $16,200,000, thus they split $46,000,000 of the $135,800,000 in revenue.

The projection by most experts is that this fight will do 3,000,000 PPV buys. So we can logically assume that they will end up splitting $105,000,000 ALL TOGETHER. So Manny takes $40,000,000 flat, and Floyd takes $65,000,000 and you have your $105,000,000 share. With this deal, Manny ends up making $15,000,000 more his highest payday of $25,000,000 and Floyd ends up making $15,000,000 more his highest payday of $50,000,000.

Dude the fighters took in 57% of the $135m gross for ODLH Floyd. 57% of $210m=$120m, which is 66/33. And I generously gave you a $70 avg per buy, it'll be more for sure.

And we didn't even include the gate, international rights, ads, closed circuit.

But wait, there's more. If Floyd got $50m for Cotto as you claim, and say Cotto only got $10m after ppv upside, That means Floyd's starpower allowed him to negotiate an even better deal, 64% of the gross. Lets say Floyd can't do better than Pac (highly unlikely). $210m*0.64=134m.

And I gave you low estimates at every step. More likely Floyd walks away with more than $100m.
