Canelo's chin

jose cotto hurt him and cintron also stunned him at one point in their fight

mosley never got too many good rights on him

i figure its hard enough to sustain shots from an ok puncher like in some bouts he just walks through shots

i think his defense is good enough where we may not have to find out about the chin

 

He got stunned once by cottos older brother, but I believe Canelo was 19 when that happened and it was his first Vegas fight out of Mexico so he might have been nervous.

From ky understanding of Canelo, he might not look too Mexican to a lot of us, but I believe this kid has aztec blood running through his veins, thus, an iron chin.

I'm also a fan of Mexican fighters.

He has a decent chin from the little we have seen of it.
He did get clocked by Cottos brother with a perfect left hand. It stunned him but he refused to hold and just fought it out Mexican style. No clinching. This made me a big fan. Nuts and guts folks!!!!
The Cintron thing people blow way out of proportion. He got hit with a right hand but that was it. He was not stunned. Just got caught with a big shot that stopped him in his tracks. He then turned up the pressure and stopped Cintron in the next round.
Other than that in 40 fights has never been in trouble.

 

He was stunned once at 19 and at 147 lbs. Usually when fighters struggle to make weight, their chins get weak. But before I say someone can be a great champ, I have to see their chin get tested. Many times we see fighters get over rated before their chin is tested...and then when it is tested, they end up getting KTFO.

 

He doesn't have a Mexican chin. His chin is weakened by his hair color.

 

I've heard this before. It's kinda of an urban legend though. Or I was blind while watching the fight?

Cotto's journeyman brother had him hurt, that's not a good sign. I don't think we can call it glass yet. Suspect for sure.

Don't know Cotto's blown up super featherweight brother hurt him, and Cintron stun him, He have a decent chin but not granite can be Koed.

 

He has a Mexican chin with a British soft spot.

You can hurt him, but he mauls trough Mexican style in the end.

 

Did I just read nerves made his chin weak? Do we have a denier in our midst?

 

wouldnt look too much in the cotto punch. miguel cotto had problems at 140 and was fine at 147. i think that was the problem with canelo as he was struggling to make weight and got clipped.

his defense appears to be good enough because he hasnt fought anyone as of yet other than rhodes and a shot mosely.

he will have all kinds of problems(defensively) against pw which is why that fight will never be made. gbp is very good at making fights and this is a fight they will not make. better chances against cotto, spinks, margarito or bundrage...all winable fights.

if the pw that fought winky still exists i dont see anyway canelo beats him.
