Oscar at 140 was TWICE the fighter Oscar was at 154. I can't believe you brought old ass Oscar into this one.

we're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one.

Great defensive performance by Whitaker, but Whitaker didnt do much,it could have gone either way,i think Oscar nicked it..

116-111 Whitaker. Anytime Pea punched, he won the rounds.

I respect your opinion. It is just my take on the fantasy fight.

Pros and Cons of young/old oscar as i have stated earlier post where Oscar fight more emotional when he was younger and more compose when he is older. Oscar tanked out more when he was young, but i would agree that Oscar is more physical younger. Even if Oscar is more of a beast at lower weight, you should at least factor in that Floyd was more of a beast at lower weight too.

You don't win fights for defending and ducking, slipping punches by itself, you win on ring generealship, defense alright, aggression and clean effective punching. Where was Pernell aggression and effective punching against either ODLH or Tito Trinidad? I also seriously doubt whether he was not given a gift for beating J C Vasquez at SWW after hitting the deck and doing not much else... With all respect to Sweet Pea ( definitely an ATG) and fans.

Willie Pep won rounds on pure defense at times. Boxing is a science, remember.

I had it a draw, but only because of the WBC's stupid accidental foul point deduction rule. Had it not been for that, I would've had Whitaker by a point. He did more to win, in my opinion.

I think you dont rate defense as highly as you should( or maybe i am focusing too much on it).
The game is basically not to get hit and Pernell did that a lot. If you are making your opponent miss then you are doing what a boxer is supposed to do.
I wont argue with the fact that you had Oscar winning but to say Pernell did nothing is absurd.

Oscar was not prime when he fought Floyd. Fact.

"What he wants to". What the **** does that mean?
    He cannot outjab Oscar
    He cannot outbrawl Oscar
    He cannot outpunch Oscar
    He cannot wear Oscar down

The only thing Floyd can do against Oscar is pot shot, like he did against Baldomir, Hernandez, and even against an old Oscar.

The difference between an OLD Oscar and a YOUNG Oscar was LEGS AND STAMINA.

Floyd would have to deal with an Oscar who threw about 100 punches in round 12 against Quartey, an Oscar who relentlessly attacked his opponents for 12 rounds... NOT the part time boxer, old Oscar Floyd fought.

    Potshots?

No, Floyd would not just deal with a better jabber, but also a guy who was powerful, very strong for his weightclass, very quick, great chin, great combinations, killer instinct, very good footwork, and more stamina.

Floyd can hit Oscar with Pot-shots, that is Floyds best weapon against Oscar.

It's obvious you're a new boxing fan, and when I say new, I mean, you didn't even follow boxing in the 90's.

So Floyd pot shots at 135-140? So bc he pot shots against Baldomir at 147 equals he pot shots Oscar at 135-140? Base on what? one fight?

Did Floyd pot shot Oscar when they fought??????
Does Floyd out brawl anyone??? Brawling is not his style, so i don't even know if you even see floyd fight from what ur telling me.
who cares about out punch anyways is about who controls and land punches. I don't even understand what kind of arguement ur presenting....

Yea i don't know what i'm talking about but you do right bc ur opinion is accruate? which part... which i have yet to figure out.

I'm guessing he hasn't seen a lot of tape of the young Delahoya. The only time I ever saw Delahoya get outhustled in a fire fight in his prime was against Roided Mosley. Other than that, he never faded at 147 and below. Even against Vargas and Mosley he pulled it out late at 154 IMO
