Floyd is a Golden Boy fighter. True Story.

You can even go on Golden Boy's website and see Floyd listed as one of their fighters.

One ***** on Bscene said Floyd buys them out of their promotional contract for $12-13 million, so I'm assuming that's all they make if they aren't getting a % of the fight revenue and Floyd's purse. Sounds about right, apparently Top Rank made 12 million from the De La Hoya-Trinidad fight which did 1.4M buys

What's his question got to do with his nationality? Can't you answer a question without being defensive? And just what do you mean by that? :hat

I read the standard was 45% to the cable provider, the other 45% for the promoters (Mayweaher/GBP promotions) to split and to pay the fighters and the remaining 10% to the TV company (HBO). Since Mayweather apparently buys Golden Boy out they aren't entitled to any of that from my reasoning.

So no wonder he needs to make sure he gets paid more than manny. If he has loads of costs to pay out.

Golden Boy bill Mayweather for promotion and supply the undercard.

Same way as Khan promotions hired Hatton promotions for his undercard with McClosky.

The percentages you list are almost exactly what happens in the industry.

So, for the Mayweather-Cotto fight, of the $94M generated through PPV sales, $42.3M (45%) is available to Golden Boy to pay for the event (along with live gate and other various smaller revenue sources). Included in the amounts to be paid out of the $42.3M and other revenues is Mayweather's guarantee of $32M (and Cotto's $8M guarantee as well).

I suspect at most Mayweather made $40M for this fight, once all other expenses are paid for out of the revenues (and the heavy promotion for this fight was expensive).
