I don't work with them so I don't know the concrete details of their relationship; I figured it was Floyd who bore the risk but perhaps its on a fight by fight basis. If it's GBP doing the guaranteeing then they sure are risking a lot for a little

As I figured, looks like it's Floyd at the helm and GBP just handling loose ends

What I am talking about is current worth and marketability.. Yesterday means nothing for goods and services.. Stocks rise and fall on a daily basis.. To go back five years on a product with a ten year max lifespan is ridiculous..

The product is bought and sold for what it's worth today... I don't care what you paid for a toyota compared to a chevy in 1980 then adjust the prices with todays inflation rate and suggest these should be the prices today..

In boxing your only as good as your last fight.. And that goes for money as well as perceived skill level..

Adjust your numbers to what matter today in May 2012..

They said Manny vs Marquez did 1.4 mil there is nothing little about how much that is off.

You have Manny vs Shane doing 1.3 mil after Shane got his ass beat by Mayweather is was also promoted by showtime I dont care how many platforms it was on.

    jmm-pac 1.4

    floyd-cotto 1.5

55% to the winner sounds very fair since floyd will be the favorite.

Does Gbp still give Tecate rebates like they did for all Floyd fights.. Are these being deducted as well?

So if Bradley does turn out to be a nobody and does 700k you'd support something like 70:30 just because it's his most recent fight? There's additional data, its undeniable that they will look at it.

Edit: I can change the numbers to 2012 but it won't change the overall message coming across
You're speaking as if you have the official numbers.

And the Shane asswhoopin don't mean anything, Cotto got his ass whooped by Margarito and stunk out with Clottey and sold well with Pacquiao, got whooped again by Pacquiao and sold well again with Floyd. Asswhoopings aren't end-all factors

You have to have a large enough sample size. Otherwise outside variables can cause statistical outliners, greatly increasing the margin of error of your analysis. He's only using their top 5 ppv's. The oldest Pacquiao fight he used was from 41 months ago, so I don't see the issue with your concerns that it doesn't accurately gauge Pacquiao's drawing power because we're going back five years.

Great and thorough post to the OP. Probably too fact based for ESB though.

But we don't know what percentage they get, or how the revenue is broken down or anything? The only thing we know is how Floyd splits the revenue with his opponent. . . I bet it's something like this: For every buy over 500k, or 750k, or whatever, Floyd splits that PPV revenue. . So that 94 million May/Cotto generated isn't even remotely close to the money he and cotto split 65/35. . .

Even you said you don't know the details of their relationships. . And Floyd has been guaranteed his purse by Golden Boy ever since he came back to fight Marquez. . . When he was asked about it, he got all pissy. . . Saying something lame, random, and irrelevant to the interviewer like "I don't ask you about prenuptial with your wife."

We have no idea how much Floyd is getting from the revenue other than his percentage, and guarantee. . Hell, we don't even know how much Floyd is really making. . Unless we see his tax returns. We really don't know **** other than what Floyd says. . .

Schaefer is the smartest businessman of the lot: Even smarter than Haymon. . So I doubt GBP is putting up all that money, and getting pennies in return. . .

You can't use this based on a star athletes worth.. Too much happens in a short period to try and do a large scale graph... This would only work on a month by month basis or even better week by week which wont work in boxing...

Like I said before..., only today matters

I dont think it will do so good.. But 700,000 is a little low.. Probably break the million mark... Bradley has no following and it will be what it is.. And if this fight doesn't generate well, it will be Gbp main bargaining chip.. As it should be...

There last couple fights will set the split, not years ago.. Even Floyd knows with money made, only today matters...

No but I know when I see **** that makes no sense at all. And why dont I have official number? Because Bob is too scared to release them.

You can say whatever you want about Mosley fight you know damn well that they did not hit that number :hi:
