Titans location could have something to do with under performing . All codes centred here are gunna struggle in national comps.
I'm in Osaka now. If youre looking for a good site to watch league (and all sport for that matter, check out... http://www.vipbox.tv/ Just scroll down to the 'rugby' section. Quality is pretty good.
A much needed break me thinks. Sometimes it can do teams the world of good. You heard the rumours that Parra are after Jennings? While it'd be a good buy, I feel a forward is what youre after. Get more grunt up there, that way your backline will have a better platform to work on. Parra should have thrown money at Ben Ross last year. A good hard working forward on the cheap and his injury troubles seem to be in the past. Get one more up front (Geddes would be another good cheap buy), and you have a team going forward. Perhaps then, you'll see guys like Sandow producing some flair, Hayne excelling, etc.
I dont think Jennings would be a good buy, he's just another fragile personality to add to Hayne, Sandow, Roberts & a few more, they need steady, mature players
It'd be a good buy in relation to what they have there already and considering that Penrith are desperate to offload him and would probably chip in with his wages. But yeah, a big broom needs to be put through the joint there, both on and off the field. Parra are almost at the point where we were in 2006.
I personally think they should **** the Tonga brothers off. Sandow off. Kearney right the **** off. Now bring in Jennings, and a young up and coming centre. A decent halfback to go with Roberts. And maybe one more impact forward. And bring in Jason Taylor. That would do me. We don't need superstar players, we have one. We need a team that can perform and provide the oppurtunities for the playmakers which at the moment isn't happening.
Best tigers effort this year by far. They were good for 80 mins tonight, stuck at it and come back hard.
There was a thread in the Souths forum I go to made by a supposed insider (though very rarely is he on the money) saying that he's got inside info that Sandow is going to retire and move back up north with his family. I wouldnt get too happy though, as I dont believe it and it's be the stupidest thing he could do ass he is on big coin and will throw that all away for nothing. I think Taylor would be a good coach for you. He got immediate results with us, then he kind of fizzed out and a bit of inexperience let him down. But hopefully he's learned from it and if given a shot again, I reckon he'll come back a better coach. I was quick to bag Taylor while he was with us, but thats because of a few reasons. 1 is that I am and always will be a pessimist, the other is that he (at times) was doing a bad job but he didnt have complete control there, and didnt have a great say in the recruitment drive. Richo and Crowe had more power then and I'm told that Richardson had a big say in who was named in the team sheet which is completely ****ing ridiculous if you ask me. He's a bit pig headed and had some problems with some players but if he can fix up those issues and be a bit more open then he can be a really good coach.
Played with jason taylor for a few years as a kid. He won us a game 1 nil one year. Lol. Could kick goals from the side line in under 10's. Biggest problem...he was the biggest sook in the comp and apparently he still is.
Well if he was a sook back then, and was still a sook in 2009 then I dont hold much hope of him shaking that habit off. The way he dealt with a few things at Souths, his pig headed little jibes at Issac Luke saying he's not an 80 minute player despite Lang turning him into a superstar while Taylor could only see him as a sub, and I believe he also had a sook attack at Michael Hagan one time simply because Parramatta opted to go with him rather than Taylor. Still, some of the greatest managers in world sport are reknown sooks. Just take a look at Sir Alex Ferguson.
