Green's team came to the scale with a towel, as if they expected him to have to strip naked. But apparently, he made weight without having to.

 

Green seemed somewhat nervous during the staredown. Kessler smiled at him while they exchanged a few words and Green broke eye contact first.

 

is this fight happening at a catchweight, and if it is what's the limit?

Nope.

He has never said he struggled. Rather he has said he could make 160 if the right fight was there.

The rumor that he had weight trouble was spread by some fans wanting him to meet dawson a couple of years ago. But really Kessler would make 160 if he starved like many other fighters and then balloon up to 168-170 on fight night. Dawson starves down to 175 and then balloons closer to 190 on fight night.

Imo. Dawson is a natural CW while Kessler (and Ward) are natural 160-168ers. Bute and Froch are real natural 172ers (so makes nice sense to try to drop to SMW.

 

I think that Sauerland forced Kessler to go to LHW, so they can install Abraham as WBO champion. Kessler wasn't even a big SMW.
