How good was Richie Woodhall?

    serviceable until his injuries, then mediocre.Not enough about him even to get past one of the worst middleweight champions i've ever seen in keith Holmes.

    Very good amatuer though.

    yup,id say more english amature style more than anything,very upright and very proper punches,one two left hook:bbb

    ****ing very good at it though,a class act,just lacked that killer instinct.

    the catley fight was a great fight

    The Holmes loss was a huge disappointment. Still, much better boxer than pundit/commentator.

    His best performance was the malinga fight IMO he was immensely brave vs beyer too.... Good fighter

    Anybody remember that programme that there was about him years ago??? Think it was called something like "Peak Performance" and was on ITV????

    Unlucky with injuries, a very solid fighter as a pro, and a top notch amateur.

    I know his 168lbs work gets most kudos, and fair dues he did win an alphabet title. But personally I think he peaked at 160, when he had excellent European and Commonwealth title reigns, when both titles meant a lot more than they do now. I think he would of beaten Holmes, had they met on the original March 96 date.

    Considering he never had that many fights, his ratio of quality opponents is good.
