“Nandrolone is the longest lasting steroid known to man,” he wrote. “No athlete would ever use it with intent to cheat. Nandrolone is the ‘kiss of death’ steroid. Stays in body from minimum of 6 months up to 18 months. No athlete uses it to cheat.” Victor Conte

Berto sabotaged the fight. Wanted no part of Ortiz and frankly wants no part of boxing right now. Hope he does some soul searching and finds love for the fight game again during his 'vacation' before he gets seriously hurt.

No thoughts? Surprising considering Berto has back out of fights for several different reasons. The Haiti excuse for the Mosley fight. So called arm injury for his fight with Ortiz, but didnt undergo any type of surgery and now taking the 'longest lasting steroid known to man' while doing VADA testing. This dude hates boxing right now lol

I think he knows he's just not on the level of a Mayweather and Pacquiao now. I think he was hyped up by hbo for so long it got to his head, and as soon as the bubble eventually burst after his first loss it got to him. He knows he can't beat Ortiz.

Man, come on. If he wanted out of boxing, he would find a better way than tarnishing his WHOLE CAREER and all his work just to get out of his current fight. That's ridiculous.

Either that or hes stupid enough to think that he could get away with using one of longest lasting steroids while undergoing VADA testing. But someone just mentioned that it can be used to treat him due to being anemic but thats hardly believable. He probably went under the treatment knowing it would show up and thus get the fight cancelled. I originally picked him over Ortiz in the rematch but somethin aint right with this guy. He looked shook and i didnt buy that arm injury bs.

If the ingestion or injection or the absortion of that substance is the "kiss of death" 4 banned steroid testing, maybe he wants a way out of the game but at the same time, looks strange that after losing an opportunity to cash in in future fights, he would simply drop it and in spite of making a declaration on that decision. Sabotaging his own fight, where did I heard this b4? Oh, yes all you Hopkins haters said B'Nard sabotaged his own fight with Chad or found a way out in October 2011. I din't buy it now for B'Nard so why should i buy this now for Berto? Basically what is the bottom line is that he can't fight and that terribly lets me down, another good rematch down the flushing toilet. That's why I am interested in fights of the past such as from the fabulous four: Duran, SRL, Hagler and Tommy Hearns... And others involving Benitez, Mancini, JCC Sr, Norris, McCallum, Toney, Nunn, Starling, Holmes, Spinks, Marvin Johnson, Leslie Steward, Matthew Saad Muhammad, Dwight Muhammad Qawi but with my luck, next thing I will get to know is that they were juicing 2.

He's probably just dumb and didn't know it was long lasting in the blood.

    Update:

"While using my nutritional products and protocols Andre's blood and urine were randomly tested twice before his recent bicep injury and all tests were negative. After his positive test was revealed, Andre admitted that he recently took some supplements that were not provided by me and did so without my knowledge." Victor Conte

Berto is either really dumb or wanted out. Maybe both.

Maybe he's hoping this will open his door to fight Floyd.

Perhaps Floyd will take the "I will give you a second chance" route whether real or played out, but that may be sufficient enough to bring in enough buyers for a PPV after Mayweather gets out of jail.

If Mayweather really wants to get into Berto's head, he might have a slogan like, "he's my tune up after servin hard time."

That would draw in viewers and give him a dual story line to work on.

Berto's not the best challenge, but he's the safest that can probably acheive a decent following against Mayweather who will likely start testing for steriods immediately, which will get into Berto's head as well if Berto really does have a situation with anabolics.

This means that Mayweather could essentially make millions fighting one of the safest challenges the fans will accept, and probably look very good in the process of doing it.

It's good matchmaking and comparitively risk averse and will probably be a PPV hit. By the time Floyd gets out of jail, it might be long enough to negotiate a fight with Berto and get him in the gym training.

Woah. Thats crazier than my idea. I just thought the dudes got some kind of bi-polar disorder who hates boxing and went balls to the wall to prevent himself from being exposed by the Vicious one.

That makes him an even easier target because he may lack heart going into it with Mayweather.
