Mayfield keeps leaping up off his toes and is caught by a sneaky right hand from Serrano. Double jab and right hand by Serrano miss from outside. Mayfield claps over the top with a right hand and holds with his left. Mayfield backs out of the pocket and Serrano creeps forward, leaning down on Mayfield and tying up. Right hand by Mayfield charging up from a crouch to pass Serrano by. Another clinch. The ref warns them to watch their heads. Right hand by Mayfield at the bell, glancing.

This fight is going exactly how I thought it would.

 

Round 2

Mayfield puts up his right hand from the outside, catching Serrano fishing for low left hooks to the body without keeping his right cocked up by his chin to block. Clinch, and Serrano digs a left to the backside as Mayfield writhes and turns in his grasp. Mayfield lands a glancing 1-2 while leaning back as Serrano comes forward. Mayfield circles left, covering up as Serrano puts out a long jab. Mayfield touches Serrano with a very light jab, and then claps over the top with a right hand - dodged. Serrano stretches his jab out, using it as a range-finder. Mayfield hops around circuitously, jabbing from different angles. None of his jabs are landing flush, but he's able to build into some straight flurries and make a bit of contact with the high-lunging right.
