ESPN2 FNF: Karim Mayfield vs. Raymond Serrano RBR

I was pretty impressed with Karim. . . This was a solid B, B- level boxer. . . And he pretty much lay waste to him. .

Had ole boy in that "face down, ass up" position!

Very explosive; plenty o' one shot power. . . Fleet of hand, and foot. . Patient fighter. . . defensive slickness scale he gets about a 5. . . offensive slickness about a 7. . .

Still can't make any real determinations on how he'd fare at the world class stage until I see him against a true B+/A- caliber guy. .

 

That's cool, ESPN3.com is going to stream Kessler vs. Green!!

They're not showing any undercard, though. Just the main event at 6pm EST.

that's the problem right there people think that the zero is worth more than the fighters health, when in fact he can lose and come back and win and be even better but if he takes too much punishment he will never be able to recover... he is a young fighter he is not fighting for a world title he should be protected

he has A+ punching power other than that he is a C- fighter nothing more, he is too limited cant throw combinations doesnt know how to box at all

I thought the referee should have stopped the fight when Serrano staggered towards him when he asked him to step forward. Regardless of whether it was the end of the round, the referee should have stopped the fight right there.

 

B- power.

 

Good punch and fundalmental. got great potential and growth.

 

Great knockout...will be at least a candidate for KO of the year.

Ref robbed him of a KOTY candidate... ****er.

 

You could be right. . His fundamentals look a little iffy, for sure. . .

We'll find out if he steps up in class in his next 2-3 fights, though. . .

Whether or not he is "HBO", or "Blowtime" material is yet to be seen. . . :bbb

 

Mayfield definitely isn't a great "boxer" by the definition of what we believe, but his biggest strength is...well, his strength. Serrano had no answer for how physical he was in bullying his way inside. Mayfield will be in trouble only when he fights a guy who can match him in strength and exceed him in skill.

 

that was a good main event...i dont know what the ref was thinking not stopping that fight after serrano went face first to the canvas after that unbelievable right hand
