Will Berto be next for Mayweather?

Maybe Berto's hoping this situation will open his door to fight Floyd.

Perhaps Floyd will take the "I will give you a second chance" route whether real or played out, but that may be sufficient enough to bring in enough buyers for a PPV after Mayweather gets out of jail.

If Mayweather really wants to get into Berto's head, he might have a slogan like, "he's my tune up after servin hard time."

That would draw in viewers and give him a dual story line to work on.

Berto's not the best challenge, but he's the safest that can probably acheive a decent following against Mayweather who will likely start testing for steriods immediately, which will get into Berto's head as well if Berto really does have a situation with anabolics.

This means that Mayweather could essentially make millions fighting one of the safest challenges the fans will accept, and probably look very good in the process of doing it.

It's good matchmaking and comparitively risk averse and will probably be a PPV hit. By the time Floyd gets out of jail, it might be long enough to negotiate a fight with Berto and get him in the gym training.

Berto would have to beat Ortiz convincingly to even be considered by Mayweather.

Honestly, I think Mayweather could sell this fight.

It's a smart business decision. It's all about marketing.

All Mayweather has to do, is make it seem like this is a tune up, and Pacquiao will be next.

Then he just has to insult Berto and make him mad, and then Berto has to play off the whole, "Conte is the one that gave me juice, and it's not my fault, I was the one willing to take the tests, etc, etc."

Then Mayweather will do the whole, "He wasn't guilty and deserves a second chance."

And then you sell the fight, when Mayweather talks **** and makes it seem like Berto isn't ****.

Berto, who's already shown signs of a mentaly weak fighter, goes in with an angry mindset, and Floyd picks him apart, and collects $20 or 30 mil for his troubles.

    It's business...

If he comes through this situation and beats Ortiz which I believe he will, then it is highly probable.

Who is Floyd going to fight then?

He already expressed interest in retiring after Cotto, so in my mind, this means Mayweather doesn't want a hard fight.

On top of that, he'll be getting out of prison, so maybe he'll want something easier due to that as well.

Not only that, but Berto is a known name.

So who else will Mayweather fight?

Hopefully Martinez, Pac or maybe Ortiz! Anything else will bomb... No one wants to see him fight Canelo!

I think Martinez is out. Pacquaio is probably out.

And I don't see him rematching Ortiz, but I guess it's possible.

And Canelo is a definetely a viable option, but I don't think GPB will put him in with Mayweather at this point.

Out of all those fighters, Berto is the least risk.

And I'm pretty sure Mayweather can find a way to sell it.
