I dont know if he was or not... I just know what I see in sparring Im just saying... this is no walk in the park for Solis... plus look at solis... to me his weight shows lack of concern.... could be a problem
Well as a boxing fan, some of us which pay money to watch fights. It's ****ing dissapointing to see the main attraction of the night come in like a fat ****ing slob, because then it is less likely you get your moneys worth in a good fight. For example **** knows is Solises fat ass wasnt the reason he ****ed up his knee vs. Vitali since it maybe couldnt support his fat-**** out of shape self.
Well, I'd be far more embarrassed to have lost a decision to Fields (or even just a couple of rounds, as Wach did) than to be Kayoed by him. Power is pretty much the one thing he does have going for him. His KO% is certainly padded, but it isn't like he's Zuri Lawrence. Power is the only reason he's even on the map. So to be stopped by him, your skills probably aren't on point as he's trash - but it doesn't necessarily mean you have a paper chin. :good
Wow ... There is absolutely no excuse for Solis to be that heavy! 267 pounds is way too much! I have always been his fan but this is a let down even for me! Solis is so damm talented that even at 40 pounds overweight he can still bring it. This is exactly the same weight that he came in when he dismantled Barrett so he is still very dangerous. But this weight just proves that yes he is lazy and it's even hard for me to admit. There's absolutely no excuse for being so damm heavy after being off for 14 months. No wonder his knee gave up against Vitaly, just leaves me thinking what could happen to his left knee. Either way look for Solis to easily beat Airich either by TKO or UD. Solis' skills and unique amateur pedigree is simply unmatched and this is why he can still be a force even obese. Man, let's just imagine what a 220 pounds Solis is capable of ... !!! Solis mi socio, tienes que bajar de peso! Hasta cuando! :-(
I've read that Solis doesn't even like boxing and that aint good for a guy looking to challenge for a title. Guys like Sanders were able to be successful even out of shape b/c they enjoyed the game and beleived in thier natural ability. Seems Solis doesn't have that kindof hunger to compete at the top level. Now, if he were to follow in Magos footsteps and get down to 220 like you allude to.....yeah, I'd say that is a world beater if he's got the chin and heart to make it happen.:deal
Airrich is coming in good shape and highly motivated for this fight. Solis will be forced to perform at his best for this win. It's not going to be a Lewis Hoylfield type hugfest, I can almost guarantee it.:deal
^ That's a good point. Anyway, tonight's fight is still worth watching. Solis will probably gass out early, but for 3-5 rounds we'll still have an opportunity to see how he's looking skills-wise.
Let me clarify something. It's not that he doesn't like boxing it's that he doesn't watch other boxers fight, that's the difference! But that in itself proves that he is not really " into boxing " as watching other fights is where a boxer also learns. He has said that he doesn't even watch video of his opponents and that also proves that he isn't a boxing enthusiast. You can just imagine how we the Cuban fans must feel about him. He is clearly our best HV that defected and yet he is letting us down with his lazyness. His lack of dedication is a big letdown but he is still a force and very hard to beat. You never lose that incredible amateur experience and those skills! :good
Incredible! But that just proves that the Cuban boxing regimen keeps them in check and in perfect weight all the time. Plus, Solis had a weight limit to meet in the amateurs whereas not in professional heavyweight boxing. The Cuban heavyweights need to know that they have to " meet " a certain weight or they can't compete, period! I blame Pedro Diaz just as much as Solis for his lack of dedication. Man, Solis was ripped at that time! But he is still a force, just watch him take out Airich!
Don't know but last time I read about him he was also close to 240 pounds and he always weighed about 225-230. The Cuban heavyweights always tend to get lazy in the pros, that gets me so damm mad!
i just dont get it how the **** do they (all fat boxers) get so fat they must do SOME training they can't all be naturally that big so how much **** do you have to eat to end up like that
