Does anyone else think we should just legalize steroids

I'm all for the legalization of steroids. Why not? its a fact that professional athletes will use any advantage they can find, yet steroids are banned? I just want to see where ESB stands and possibly hear some opinions.

This is an idiotic argument. Steroids run rampant in sports all over the world. To think that boxers from others countries don't use them is naive.

 

Why not?

 

Steroids shouldn't be legalized unless all pro boxers have equal access to them. The big problem with steroids is that they destroy the "level playing field." The only fighters who can afford them have massive financial backing: the pros who lack deep pockets can never afford to buy PED's.

And of course, there's the issue of health. When long-term steroid use expands a fighter's skull to big proportions, the changes are irreversible. Will that lead to bone cancer later in life? Will it lead to brain cancer?

Doesn't anyone follow the biggest controversy WWE has been facing for the past 15 years.

Boxing would shoot itself in the foot if they did and it would only be a few months or years until they ban it again. Silly thought.

 

Not all boxers have access to great trainer, good managers, proper sparring, even good multivitamins and other legal supplements. Steroids shouldn't be held to a higher standard.

On the issue of health you're right we don't know much about long term health affects but steroids kill less people than the aforementioned multivitamins every year. Legalizing steroids would allow us to finally conduct some long term studies.

 

Those things mentioned above kill the sport as well, we don't need more inequities. From a health standpoint, we also don't need boxers ruining their bodies with steroids. Many of the health risks from steroids are already known and we don't need extra studies. Look up pubmed and look up any steroid you know of.
