Dawson might be the favorite vs Kessler, but stylewise i see problems for Dawson

    Dawson was more or less exposed against Pascal, who came out aggressive and beat up him, until he gassed. Yeah Dawson beat Bernard Hopkins, by outworking him. As much Bhop fan i am, i've gotta say his losses to Dawson, Calzaghe and Taylor came because they simply outworked him, this is were his age comes into play. If you ain't busy against Hopkins, you will lose simple as that. Kessler is aggressive, got great combinations and punching power in both hands and a counterpuncher by nature, not as explosive as Pascal, but his stamina is way better than Pascal's. And Dawson has mental issues, we've seen before, which i think Kessler can expose. So i would favor Dawson over Kessler, but not as much as people here on ESB do. What do you think? :good

    Dawson will do enough to win.

    He faced bigger problems with Hopkins.

    Dawson eats straight up and down boxers like Kessler for lunch. Dawson holds the stylistic advantage in this one. Kessler can't outbox Dawson to a win.

    He faced even bigger problems with Pascal, i think that night Dawson boxed well, but damn i was disappointed in Bernard i really think age came into play that night. But remember styles makes fights. Pascal beats Dawson. Hopkins beats Pascal & Dawson beats Hopkins

    No he can't outbox Dawson to win, but he can hurt him and bring him in the same mental state like he was v Pascal, so like i said he is the favorite, but Kessler with his new trainer Jimmy Montoya, is skill wise better than before, but not as quick and powerful.

    Pascal has some nice explosive speed n throws awkward punches, Dawson would school Kessler don't think he gives Chad any problems at all

    Dawson is too big, he holds every physical advantage mate.

    Kessler is a natrual 168lb guy. His explosiveness has been dulled by time and injury too, he's a ghost of the guy who lost to Joe Calzaghe.

    Dawson is really a cruiserweight, and his confidence will be sky high after establishing himself as number one. Kessler may be able to use his jab to keep himself in the fight early on, but eventually he'll get out worked and maybe even beaten up. His chin should see him to the bell though. Dawson should be fighting 175lb guys, not super middle weights.

    Kessler is like a robot who needs some oil these days, too stiff. Dawson has the advantage at distance here, so I really see Kessler having little chance.

    Kesslers best bet would be to actually sparkle Dawson.

    I think stylistically its an intriguing matchup, I got Dawson winning but I would not be surprised to see Kessler stop him.

    Dawson would start connecting with his lethal combos later in the fight and probably hurt Kessler.

    Stylistically this is Dawson's fight.

    However, Kessler is a smarter fighter and more experienced too.

    But that is countered by Dawson being bigger, longer reach and faster.

    So back to square one where styles match up well for Dawson.

    Pre injury Kessler would be a great fight, I might even favour Kessler. Kessler seem to be a bit slower now and a tad sloppy at times which would give him a lot of trouble against a patient fighter like Dawson. I would still love to watch this fight though

    Dawson didn't face anything in the fight with pascal. That fight was all about dawson being lazy and un interrested. Dawson has shown a good chin and with that goes kesslers only shot at winning that fight.
