No, that isn't obvious at all.

He's a very good fighter if you ignore his chin and all intangibles and just focus in on his few positive traits, which means you aren't really getting the whole picture.

He has solid power, and does occasionally show glimpses of a well-schooled base of fundamental skills and boxing know-how. (jab, movement, etc)

The facts that he's mentally weak and trigger shy with poor punch resistance and has always had poor stamina and an abysmal work rate all stand in the way of him ever having stood a chance of being a good fighter. Those negatives would never allow him to succeed at the top level in spite of his couple of aforementioned positives.

He has a few ingredients, but far from a recipe.

Nothing against him at all. I think it's just a common impulse with people, that if someone talks big and then doesn't back it up - hey bite into them. Don't agree with that attitude myself, but there you have it.

Why don't you agree with that attitude? :huh

    That's pretty much universal.

If you're going to crow loudly, come correct.

Well, I don't know about other countries but here in Denmark I think it goes too far. Whenever anyone tries to be anything apart from ordinary, people are just crossing their fingers for them to trip up. The result is that few people are willing to take risks in order to achieve something. I don't mind people who want to go for it and aren't afraid to say so. It can be annoying, but it's better than everyone being bland.

Well, I haven't been to Denmark nor met too many Danes in person - but I do have an interesting outsider's perspective given to me by the well-traveled curator of a glowing rocks museum in Amsterdam...

He said that the Danish are by far the most obnoxiously arrogant people in the world, and that it's just ingrained in their culture and tradition. "Even more than you Americans!!" he said. "By a lot!" That while most European countries have a strong nationalist identity and think of themselves as superior, in Denmark it's taken to a whole different level where they all believe they're superhuman.

I don't know, it was just the ramblings of one crazy old hippie, but. :conf :yep

It kind of does fit with some of what's come across from some Danes' public persona in my experience. I love Kessler to death, but he has always had some extreme cocky swagger. A quiet type of swagger, he doesn't go around puffing his chest and boasting all the time, but he's definitely got an air of superiority. Also some musicians from there, have a very haughty vibe.

So probably that country isn't the best example to use as a benchmark for the rest of the world. Where everyone is habitually conceited and highly competitive, it probably breeds that contemptuous desire to see others fail?

Cause this forum is 80% imbecile. The guy plays the bad guy to promote fights. Nearly had Kessler out in the 1st, never ran, and people sh*t on him because they're idiots. Chicken sh*t idiots who, of course, would never dog Green to his face.

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the Bitter Sweetness Nut Hugger Revue! :happy

  13. I don't think he's been the same fighter since the colon cancer thing, but he was never great to begin with and he's still, to this day, riding the wave of that 18 second KOTY over Codrington.

He should probably retire, but I can't blame the guy for taking the fights offered to him at this stage in his career.

Waitaminute! Are you guys saying Allan Green isn't an all-time great?
He's on Ward's resume and Ward only fought the best of the best in that Super Duper tournament. Remember how he had tough fight after tough fight and now deserves a rest and needs Bute to match Green in accomplishments before deserving to get in the ring with him?

    Intentional headbutt said it all.

He exudes arrogance when he is constantly humbled.
