Kesslers promoter, Kalle Saurland, has announced that he wants to target the winner of Bute vs Froch. Assuming Bute wins, a fight against Kessler would probably feel more attractive than facing Ward. Kessler brings much more money to the table, and is not as dangerous as Ward. Interbox will have an easy choice.

This will place Ward in a difficult situation. He might even be forced to face his demons and fight Andre Dirrell, and it seems like Ward does not like to fight talented opponents at their natural weight.

Kessler probably dont mind to cause Ward a bit of grief. He is pissed about the fouling Ward got away with when they fought, and since he cant beat Ward this will at least mess up the Oakland fighters career a bit. As they say, anything can happen in boxing. Stay tuned to listen to Wards sour comments when he cant get his big payday against Bute :D

I really dont think Ward wants to fight Bute, It does look that way. I think if Ward did want to he would be waiting to see the outcome of Butes next fight rather than planning another one which adds to delay.
I dont think Kessler is interested in Bute either. Kessler could have been fighting Steiglitz and if he won he would have a SMW world title and be a 4 time SMW champ, though Im not convinced Kessler would have won after watching last night. Instead Kessler went after a diamond belt fighting at a catchweight

Kessler wants Cleverly and old BHOP. Easy money fights that'll sell. He also might want Abraham should Abe win vs Steiglitz for similar reasons. Easy money that would sell.

Would Bute defend his title away from home in consecutive fights? Could Sauerland guarantee a 65% purse to Bute in the neighborhood of 6mil. I highly doubt it. Interbox WOULD, and now that Ward is hiding at LHW from Bute......as ANY knowledgeable fans knew he would..........Showtime would certainly pick up Bute's next bout, especially if it were Kessler.

Kessler don't want Bute. He wants $$$. BHOP, Cleverly, Abe all give him good paydays at 50/50 in Denmark and theyre all makable and winnable fights for him.

Showtime. That's all I have to say. Bute has to get rid of his contract, if not Ward will stay alone on HBO.

I thought Bute joined Showtime as thats where the other SMWs were. Is Ward now with HBO and not Showtime?

Bute is the money ticket at 168. He can pick and choose whoever he likes. LOL @ Ward if Kessler fights the winner of Froch and Bute.

Kessler's big advantage is that he can fight almost whoever he wants and it'll still be an event here in Denmark, with people buying tickets and ppv. Even though he doesn't hold a real wc belt, he doesn't need a specific opponent to market the fight - though of course some are better than others.

Yes, that's why Ward is taking on a far more accomplished fighter in Dawson.

Thats what he gets for acting all high and mighty. Boxers who cant draw needs to be a bit humble.

Dawson is an excellent boxer, but he will be drained and Ward insists they must fight in Oakland ...

As I recall, Dawson called at Ward at 168. Ward accepted the challenge.

Dawson isnt more accomplished at SMW than Bute. Some fighters cant compete in a certain division. G Johnson is proof of that, in that he was a journeyman at SMW losing more than he wins but at LHW was world class.
Dawson may be accomplished but also lost to Pascal and really his big wins are to much older fighters to him ie Johnson and Tarver 14/15 years older, Hopkins his big win 18 years older. Adamek wasnt a good LHW at all.
Dawson has no claim at SMW, Bute has :good.

Also has that fight been signed or made yet??

If Dawson called it at the weight fair enough, Ward cant be blamed for that. Dawson jumped the tougher SMW division previously and fought in the easier LHW division

Kessler won't fight with guys like Bute,Ward or Andre Dirrell . His promoter wil match up him carefuly with guys that he can beat, like Stieglitz , Abraham or even Froch after he will lose against Bute. :yep
At LHW , Kessler could beat guys like cleverly or shumenov , both title holders .
