Well then, steroids to brass knuckles because both increase punching power. The drug companies have tons of money and they would love to legalize this **** for over the counter use but the governing bodies regulate it because of its health risks. This is really simple ****.

You must eat a lot of lemons.

**** and steroids in the most deadliest sport on earth are as dangerous if not worse. Have you honestly done boxing in your life?, have you exchanges proper punches in an actual ring?, do you know how tough/dangerous this sport REALLY is?. Legalizing PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS in an already deadly sport is a recipe for disaster. You must be mentally challenged beyond belief to overlook the dangers within the sport to make a ridiculous thread. I happened to pass by your profile and you claim to be 21, with that mentality I expected you to be 3.

    OP

I'm confused on where you stand on this now:huh

Are you saying PEDs should be legalised simply because you see no legit reason for them to be banned.

Or are you saying PEDs should be legalised because it would positively impact the sport in some way. (if so please tell me how) :think

Where do you draw the line with performance enhancing drugs? As I've said before steroids don't cause people to acquire superhuman abilities. Look back on the performance of men who went on to test positive for banned substances. Where they just crippling opponents left and right. No, they are still just mere mortals

My point is they should be legal because there isn't a food reason for them not to be. I'm not a crazy pro drug person in any respect. I kind of just am arguing their point on this one.

As for them having some giant impact on the sport, they don't. Steroids are already out there boxers are using them and have been for some time I don't see any major impact except people talk about testing more often

First off, I don't hold any puritanical attitude toward steroid use and its 'evils', but the fact remains that they allow your body to perform way above what it would naturally be capable of, given you an advantage over an opponent who isn't using them. Multi-vitamins, supps and the like merely allow your body to function at as close to 100% as is possible. They don't push it above that. Steroids do.

And you don't think fighters would abuse the drugs to get an even greater advantage? Steroid use is prevalent in the sport, I don't deny that, but it's currently held in check somewhat by testing and penalties. Fighters cannot just juice up willy nilly with whatever they want. They have to take precautions and limit the amount they use. Legalise its use though and you open a Pandora's box of potential problems. Fighters are not the smartest or most safety-conscious of individuals, and there are bound to be idiots without the knowledge or sense to use the drugs 'responsibly', driven by greed or glory, who'll push it over the edge, with disastrous consequences.

As for the safety aspect, you can prattle on about how there are no definitive medical reports linking steroids with early deaths, but then the same was true of tobacco for many years, back when cigs were known as coffin nails. People know the score. Overclocking your body in any way is going to result in problems somewhere down the line; it's naive to think otherwise. Factor in the dangerous nature of the sport and health problems, directly or indirectly, are bound to increase.

So no, steroids and other PEDs should not be made legal unless you're prepared to allow hand wraps, crooked refs and all the rest into the game. If fighters are going to use them they should be prepared to face the consequences, same as any other form of cheating.

:rofl So you are arguing something should be allowed because it has minimal impact? :rofl We have ALL seen what the impact is from cheats that were caught. No you insist on being stupid rather than give up the original point? I'm outta this. I've had my fun poking trolls for the day. You ignore many of my points because they just don't suit your agenda. No way to go through life kid.

Some of the early abusers are already dead. Lyle Alzado became a spokesperson.

Many of the long term affects are yet to be seen.

Definition of Steroids: any of a large group of fat-soluble organic compounds containing a characteristic chemical ring system. The majority, including the sterols, bile acids, many hormones, and the D vitamins, have important physiological action.

Now use your brain cells all think if it is wise for one's health on the long term and for the health of an opponent he is practicing a blood combat sport, to alter your physiological action on the short term?

Lyle died of a brain tumor he claimed he got from abusing steroids. NOT one doctor has gone on record saying that steroids directly or indirectly were the result of his death
