Thank you. And thanks to all my fellow Chincheckers for their supportive comments also. I am pleased there are those who get the importance of punch resistance in boxing. But, with all due respect, it is not for you guys that I do this - and this true for you, I assume as well. As long as one person remains ignorant of - or worse willfully denies - the central importance of having a good chin in boxing, then further education and enlightenment of these poor souls is needed. As long as one person erroneously believes that "that punch woulda KOd anyone," the work of the Chincheckers on ESB will never be done. As long as one hero-worshiping fanboy can't accept that the object of their adulation has a shaky chin, we are needed. After all, GLASS JAWS EXIST IN BOXING!!!!!:happy:happy:happy:happy
The only thing we KNOW, the only thing we CAN know, is that that punch knocked out Allan Green. And given Green's clear history of poor punch resistance, I'd say odds are his shaky chin played an important role. Maybe a lot of guys would have gone down - but only a glass jawed fighter like Allan Green would have been knocked OUT COLD.:yep
It has been obvious that Green had a glass jaw since 2006, when he was nearly starched by light-hitting journeyman Donny McCrary. Basically, it's been a series of jaw shattered escapades since, culminating in his getting KTFO by Kessler last night. If there is one thing that Green knows how to do well, it's hit the canvas!
Stating a fighter has a glass jaw, is like stating a fighter is slow, or isn't a big puncher, it's an attribute. Why do people get so insecure when chins are discussed on ESB? Keep up the good work chincheckers!
That is right. A Chin is the most important attribute for a fighter to have this has been proven over and over.
lol @ the thread starter. never boxed a day in his life yet so quick to criticize someone else lol. Keyboard warrior to the rescue lol
