Haha. Yeah, Arum is responsible for the doping culture right across sports. I remember personally seeing him inject Marion Jones with the clear, scheduling a meeting between Shane Mosley and Victor Conte, and practically begging Barry Bonds to get on the juice.

oh ok..no one ever heard of doping before 2006, 2007
and only Arum is to blame of all the promoters, because its his job to do what again? promote fights? or do you blame him because they drive over and pick bob up, and make him pave the way to the drug store ?
you look like a ****ing moron for calling out a guy that has never tested positive for **** in his life....a guy thats "so dumb" he gives away half his pay check to bob, a guy thats so dumb "he cant even make tweets or gamble" but he has outsmarted every test from day 1

If anything, you should thank Arum for promoting Latino's especially Mexicans to household names and pay-per-view attractions.

Before Golden Boy, where did your boxers go? Don King? Can't even promote Ricardo Lopez and JCC Sr the right way.

I get it, "I need to blame Arum so everyone get my point that Pac is doping."

    Hilarious ****.

Ridiculous. 1) there is no evidence Pacquiao is doping. 2) even if he was, he is hardly the first in the sport. Why not blame Roy Jones, Shane Mosley, James Toney etc. 3) I doubt Bob Arum is the guy pusing drugs on his fighters - why not blame the dopers themselves along with their "specialists" - people like Conte.

Yup, and most tickets we're given away for free so records can be attained as well. But that's a story for another day.

Seriously though, who could've made Morales, Arce, and everyone else a household name from the early 2000 until GBP was formed.

The blame rests solely with the athletes - they are the ones who ultimately decide whether they cheat or not. However, I don't think it's anywhere as black and white as its made out to be.

I should probably state that I'm 100% against doping, and I think that those found guilty should be banned for life with no exceptions. However . . .

I would think that many athletes feel they don't have much of a choice about doping now. Imagine you'd dedicated your whole life to sprinting, practicing everyday to become number 1 in the world - but when you climb the rankings you reach a point where you realise that the very best athletes, the ones between you and that number one spot are all juicing and therefore can train harder, train longer and run faster than you'll ever be able to while clean. You have a choice to make - you either forget everything you worked for and settle for being an also ran, or you decide that you're going to level the playing field and play by the 'real rules'. Fact is, you know you're every bit as talented as those guys, they're just doing something extra to put them ahead of you.

I'll give what a believe to be a real life example, which will no doubt be very controversial:

For two years Pacquiao had been climbing theough the weights and dominating in a way many in the sport found impossible. He has also been surrounded by doping allegations, he had used numerous excuses to avoid further testing and, in the eyes of a lot of people, was risking his highest payday to avoid it.

Then he signs to fight Marquez. Marquez knows he's just as good, if not better as Pacquiao, but he also suspects that Pacquio is using PEDS and will be bigger, stronger, faster and more durable than ever. So what does he do? He hires a 'trainer' who has to operate under an alias to disguise his past. who had previous designed and supplied drugs for BALCO, has admitted to developing several undetected steroids and growth hormones and only avoided prison because he agreed to testify as a witness in the BALCO case.

    Go figure.

yeah um ok...... i didnt say the tickets were 100 bucks each.... you could have give away anything for free and it doesnt mean you will have 100,000 people show up

not taking anything away from anyone.....arce and morales are and were gonna be names regardless of who they had promoting, they can fight and are exciting

What gets me is how people forget that the one time floyd and pac was close pac stopped the fight by refusing the testing. His assticks thought that pac was taking some kind of moral stand by not proving he wasn't a dirty fighter. Every thing was set, floyd agreed to all of pacdivas crazy demands including that pay-for-pound bs.

On to the topic, all the other major promotion companies in boxing have begun to do random testing except guess who. I don't blame arum for people doping, I do blame him for holding the sport back by helping one of the most high profile fighters avoid testing.
