Ive seen limited footage of the Baer brothers, particularly Buddy.
Ive mostly seen higlights most notably max vs Primo.
What do you guys think, was the style of the Baer brothers too
crude? Could their freakish power prevail against the technique
of wlad, and the awkwardness of Vitali?

:bloodyou look like BE...but you're not. either way, you're right. pretty much it

a couple of guys of the forum (ie: janitor) will know more about max's exploits and skills, which will enlighten.

however, max was sloppy as mayorga but had power. buddy lacked that same power. they both lose

Buddy loses to both but I think Max CAN score an upset against Wlad tbh. Max was one of the most durable champs ever with one of the hardest right hands ever, coupled with stamina to go all night and a sloppy but very unpredictable and aggressive style that i reckon could trouble Wlad and make him panic. Wlad is able to control most fighters by keeping them at the end of his reach but Max usually charged in flailing with head and body shots, I don't think Wlad would be able to adapt to this style and could catch enough on the chin to put him down for good. Not saying I'd favour Max just that he has a good chance...

Before Volo's defensive focus become nearly unbreakable, Max had the chin, power and style to plow his way through, possibly, at some point, and take an upset. Let's not pretend he wasn't a better total package than Sam Peter, who was crude (and not as fast) as can be and still managed to find Volo, in his early path leading to redemption. Had it been Max, hey, maybe it would've been kayo loss number 4. But, he was still improving and becoming more difficult to catch. Both Volo and Vitali at their best take the Baers at their best though. They are on different levels. Although, Max is probably still ranking higher than Vitali on a lot of HW lists, I'd wager. :yep

i think buddy would lose to klits, but max has a good chance.his pressure and iron chin could well make wlad panic, and max has a big right hand...he could also knock out vitali,or cut his face up for a tko win with big right hands

Yeah, i agree with this, mostly. On paper, Baer is the literal nightmare for Wlad, a huge puncher with an iron chin and (at his his best) no fear who doesn't give a **** if you punch him. He would just keep launching himself untidily at Wlad throughout. Baer would be matched with Vitali twice before he would get anywhere near Wlad...

But. He is lacking in skill, disorganised and although he's likely more skilled than he gets credit for (seasoned, veteran world champion and all) he's going to get badly out-boxed and outjabbed for the period of time Wlad is on his feet.

If they were boxing tomorrow, I think I'd pick Max. Maybe.

Either Klitschko easily destroys Max and Buddy on the same night.

I would Favor the Klitschko's over the Baers but Max hit hard enough to rattle brains and he was a big guy so I would not sleep on him, he could upset either Klitschko on a good night. Thing with Max he is weak on consistency but on a good night he was a danger for anyone

i just can't get behind max. he's so ridiculously sloppy on film. sure, he has power but so did tiger jack fox. i don't think he gets anywhere near wlad's chin and his jab would dissuade max. i see baer clowning by the 6th round after klits success, treating the fight as a laugh and letting wlad cruise to a decision

Some people just don't realize the current Wladimir Klitschko is so much better than the Wladimir Klitschko of 10-12 years ago. Max Baer would get annihilated by the current PRIME wladimir klitschko.

I don't think you'll find anyone on this board who thinks Wlad hasn't improved since 2002.
