We don't need more of these threads. The fact is Mayweather's offer of 0% of the PPV is not a genuine attempt at getting the fight made.

However the important statistic of the Mayweather-Cotto fight is that both sides might have walked away with $70-75M (Floyd $50M+, Cotto $20M+).

The fight generated $106M in PPV and gate, and they took 65-70% of that in a fight that did 1.5M buys.

How can people not see that Pacquiao-Mayweather could easily double that, and do 3M buys and $210M revenue and gate?

That would mean atleast $140M to split between the fighters camps. And that is before other revenue streams like sponsorship and endorsements which will be alot more than they were for Mayweather-Cotto. They might also price the PPV $5-10 more, which would add another $15-30M at 3M buys.

People justifying Mayweather's offer are not doing so using any good logic or reason..

when floyd was looking at jail time he said manny could fight in may...the minute floyd got his sentence moved it was "no way we can fight in may....manny has a cut....what if he gets punched and it opens up....were fighting in june".....the guy said he didnt know who to call(oh ya? how bout calling anyone? haymon, schaefer, etc...anyone).....wouldnt return schaefers calls(theres a hint on who to call bob).....never mentioned floyd....said he wanted a jmm rematch.....said a stadium couldnt be built in time....etc

these guys made a big stink about the drug testing 3 years ago....now when there is seemingly nothing going on in regards to the fight...when it seems there is no effort or they are no closer than they were 3 years ago....suddenly drug testing isnt an issue to them......

 

Name one boxer who would dance with Floyd that can give him higher PPV and gate other than Pac.
