I, for one, think that calling the stoppage "terrible" is going to far. The guy was knocked down thrice within two minutes and didn't seem to be all there. You could say it was a bit too soon, but there was 1.24 to go on the clock and he didn't look like he would make it to the bell. Cortez saved him from a potentially massive beating.

How does lanky, scrawny, happy and asian beat compact, muscular, powerful, angry, and black? Please tell us, because Kirkland would like to know as well!

Honestly, I don't even think Kirkland could win a rematch. Ishida has a granite jaw and can actually fight as we've seen against Pirog and Williams. Kirkland has a china chin and WOULD get tagged again.

Oh, I have no doubt Ishida would spark Kirkland out again, in pretty much the same fashion. . . They could fight at 154, or 175, whatever. . Ishida step-back counter punches him to death. . .

I loved the way that the crowd gave Ishida love after the win. That was great!

Kirkland is never gonna fight a guy taller than him again.

:yep Kirkland had that WTF just happened look.

I think he stopped it kind of early.. You can make the argument that he was looking bad and dropped by a very light hitter multiple times in a short period... But he also tried to get right back up and possibly could have survived the round. I'm glad he was given the chance in the Angulo fight to continue on, and I have to think the same could have been possible in this fight.

Either way, nothing clear enough to say a bad stoppage or he would have survived to win. **** happens, it's boxing! :bbb

He didn't take Angulo's bomb, the first one put him on his ass. Then Angulo gassed out going for the finish, unlike Ishida who didn't get wild but stuck to his style and beat that ass.

    Ishida is awesome.

Also, is that Donaire who shakes his hand after the fight? (At 5:06)

its just weird im not implying in the least that this fight wasn't legitimate but to have a war with angulo and stand up to some heavy shots and Ishida drops him 3 times seriously
