I actually do live in Poland, my English is good because we all live in a world where good English is a must :deal
Years later, after Hopkins and Jones were faded and all three wanted to cash in. I don't put much stock into those fights; nor would I had Hopkins or Jones won. Seriously, you are saying this guy isn't over-rated: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACgTJhEdj5M[/ame]
Guys lets stick to the thread topic: brit fighters can never be underrated because there is simply too much hype.
I'm from England and I recognise many British fighters have been overrated when really everyone should have just chilled out. Hatton is a good example, I thought he was overrated. I always thought the hype was too much especially after Collazo smashed him around. He was a very good, but not great or elite fighter who over-achieved. But I knew he was limited and his chances against both Mayweather and Pacquiao were pretty slim. Not all British fans are football hooligans who drink lager and know nothing about boxing. I think the problem may stem from a lot of British fans being very casual fans combined with the fact that Britain can't boast too many great fighters throughout history; any fighter therefore that seems any good is therefore seen as the next coming of Joe Louis, when in reality it's just good but limited Ricky Hatton. It's a shame that the behaviour of some idiots makes the rest of us seem ignorant as well.
I can remember the only reason I got 5/1 on Ricky Burns to beat Martinez was because the girl in the bookies was dyslexic and got the numbers round the wrong way and missed a zero because he was 50/1 ON! Yup,everyone expected him to whup Katsidis too.The ultimate hype job. Ajose Olusegun. The whole world knows about how Morales really wanted to fight him too eh?:think
Sorry about getting off topic. What I would like to find out is how much they are hyped domestically before getting exported. Common sense tells me that true boxing fans know of better fighters than the ones receiving the hype, just as is the case here in America. Also, how much attention does the media give fighters not in the 168 and heavyweight divisions?
