He pushed an unbeaten prospect with powerful backing (access to top training and sparring) to the limit, is another way of putting it. Maybe you should stop selling him short?

The million dollar question to my fellow ESB posters:

Is it worth buying tickets and driving up to LA to attend this card?

The tickets would be $50-$100, the traffic always sucks, and it's about 50 miles.

Breidis Prescott was willing to take the fight....

Josesito is a former LIGHTWEIGHT who's had a better career at 140, but 147 seems too big for him.... But he's a fighter...

As for Holt, this just might push him into title range again...

I'd say it might be too big a step too fast for Vargas, but it isn't like it would be utterly ridiculous matchmaking or anything.

Better match-up than Ortiz vs. shot Harris or shot Campbell - which, btw, were only a few fights ago..

I thought Lopez deserved the win. I'm not calling it a robbery because it was very close.

But anyways, I think Ortiz will be too much for Lopez, but who knows. There is always that element of surprise when there is a replacement. I'm just glad we get to see a fight. Sure it's not the match-up we were awaiting but at least boxing fans get to see a fight.
