While were at it we'll just nevermind the fact that Dirrell made Froch look like bumbling, drunken idiot. Froch was so ****ing steaming pissed you could see it written on his face because all he hit all night was ****ing AIR. Hence the rabbit punching, holding and hitting, etc. After the first round Dirrell had Froch timed, at a constant disadvantage, and ****ed.
Negative. Froch won against dirrell fairly is fiction. WHats the word that blokes use in England? Froch's victory is Bullocks.
How many times can Bernard Hopkins loss and still be a topfighter? Kessler lost 2 times in his carrier,-I dont think thats bad! Btw Kessler would just kill Dirrell!!!
Dirrell clearly beat Froch come on now. 8-4 if you're very generous. Glen Johnson has boxed at the highest level for years, does that make him elite? I don't care what level you fight at, it's all about who you beat and Kessler hasn't defeated more elite fighers than Dirrell. Even if you don't count the Froch win for Dirrell he still beat Abraham. That's one elite fighter each. Kessler is not more proven, just more loved.
Andre Dirrell has fought 20 times and lost one. Kessler 45 and lost two. Where is your respect for boxing in general, when you cant/will not see that Kessler has just contributed more to boxing than André, and still do. Ward and André should soon put there primadonna attitude on hold and start boxing!
Kessler has been a pro longer. That's all his record means. Where does Ward figure in with this thread? Is everyone on here ****ing dumb?
Every time Dirrell has faced good to elite fighters he has been frozen scared. He lost to Froch more than Froch won. If he hadn't been so frightened he'd have won. Against Abraham he was running around like a deer in the headlight. We can find many examples of this behaviour. There's a vid on youtube from the AM's showing how this guy get's brutally stopped by a lightweight displaying the exact same behaviour he has showed in his two only fights against top guys as a pro. Now his brain is healed apparently and he has beaten a janitor and all of a sudden people think he can beat Kessler? You guys are tripping. Nothing suggests he should have a chance. Let him fight a Oosthuizen and then we can talk.
Direll hasn't done a lot with his career yet but the skills are there and people acknowledge them. He's the fastest 168 fighter alive today. He's got quick feet and move slick around the ring. He likes to box and has long range and is a hard guy to fight. He doesn't like to mix it up on the inside but maybe that's because he's been fighting hard hitting brawlers in his last fights so it wasn't the best game plan. Direll has more in his arsenal for us to see he's young and still has his best days ahead of him. I hope to see him back soon. It's weird to say direll has no heart yet i seen AA get the most votes in the hardest hitter thread on her yesterday. I think isn't as big as froch's but its still fine. Direll's physical ability's are a test for any fighter at 168 right now. He does have good power and he's pretty well rounded. Kessler's best days are behind him like froch's. They are both slower and are not as sharp anymore, kessler hasn't got the same level of defense. There chin's have been in so much wars there bound to crack any minute now. Direll could of took the froch fight if he held his ground at times and never ran which can be seen as fear and fear is seen as losing. Direll needs to be more aggressive but he was young and maybe the big fights got in to his head and got the better of him but he has been there and done it now, he should be ready from now on.
Pretty much this. . It's definitely not a foregone conclusion. . It could also depend on where the fight goes down, cause a lot of rounds could be reasonably objective, and close enough for hometown judges to swing either way. . . But if I had to bet, I'd roll with Dirrell UD. . .
I love how you say that the only top fighter Kessler has beaten in his 11 worldchampionship fight is Froch (proberbly because he has beaten Dirrell) and then goes on to say that Abraham should be counted as a topfighter i SMW although he holds a record of 4 wins and 3 loses, while fighters like Siaca, Beyer, Lucas and Andrade apparently do not count as "top-fighters". You can try all you want, but Dirrell gets beat on resume by Kessler easy. Kessler is a three times worldchampion with 11 championship fights and 9 wins - those championshipfights include 4 fights abroad. But again that doesn't mean that Kessler will beat him - it just means that Kessler is a much more proven fighter than Dirrell. And it means that the fight is very unlikely - There is no reward in beating Dirrell at this point. If they fight now and Kessler wins, then all that will be writen after the fight is that Dirrell was overrated/hyped - no chin - no heart (depending on how he lost). On top of that - he doesn't really draw a crowd and he doesn't really sell TV + he holds no belt - add to all of that the fact that Dirrell feels he got robbed in Europe, so he is proberbly going to be too expensive to get to Denmark and he can't afford to bring Kessler to the US - especially with nothing else to offer. So a fairly risky fight for Kessler with little reward. Dirrell have to take a few fights and prove that he is as good as you make him out to be - then we can talk ... before then the fight just isn't going to happen.
But is it really? Dirrells reflexes are excellent, on same level as Hayes or perhaps even better. Everytime Froch tried anything Dirrell started to move away. So Froch landed without authority, but he was still able to land. Dirrell confirms this indirect in an interview: "I never got to feel Frochs power, because I gave him a lot of angles." In the heat of the action it's hard for judges to tell if a shot lands with power or not, so they rewarded those grazing shots of Frochs. It might not be fair, but no surprise. I dont think Froch landed many clean shots. But there were some hooks, and when Dirrell clinched Froch often had a chance to bang away, which is legal. Dirrell also had a nosebleed a bit into the fight. I agree Dirrells defensive is very good, but saying Froch landed nothing at all is not true. He has talent, but is not a genious like Floyd. I agree the fight was close, and you can score it for Dirrell. But the whole idea of Dirrell "schooling" Froch is just not how I see it.
