Should Floyd fight Martinez at 154 for 80%?

Floyd beat the highest rated 154 lb belt holder and is now the 154 lb champ.

Martinez is the 160 lb champ, but he is willing to go down to 154 lbs and fight Floyd for his 154 lb belt, as Floyd is the 154 lb champ.

This means that Floyd is the best fighter at 154.

Martinez will fight him for 20% which gets rid of the money issue. It is no longer an issue.

Floyd will be able to dictate the terms as well.

All the other fights at 154 are not viable with the exception of Canelo, who GPB has expressed no interest in putting in right now with Mayweather.

Angulo, Lara, Williams, and Molina, with perhaps the exception of Williams are not financially viable options because it will likely be hard for Floyd to sell the fight.

I think the most competitive fight to be made, and with an opponent that actually has a chance to win, is with Martinez.

I think fans would eat this fight up. Martinez is an explosive, fast counterpuncher with KO power in both hands.

Or Floyd could go down to 140 and beat up LITTLE ASS WEAK ASS KHAN who got pushed around like a ***** by Peterson and got the **** beat outta him by Maidana.

Or Floyd could pick on weak as hell, small as ****, Guerrero who quit when he got a wittle cut one time.

So Floyd could either pick on these small dudes like a bully or he could defend HIS TITLE as he is the LEGITIMATE CHAMP at 154...

...Unless of course he's a FAKE ASS champion.

If not Martinez or Pacquaio (which isn't going to happen), who can Floyd fight?

    I think he should.

Or maybe fight for Martinez 160 pound title.

Even if Mayweather cant weigh more than 154.

I would still pick Mayweather to beat Martinez.

I wouldn't expect FLoyd to go to 160 to fight Sergio. . It would already be a drastic enough size disparity. . And if Sergio claims he can make 154 so easy, and he's so "natural" there, what's the problem?

Sergio doesn't even deserve 20%. . . More like 10%, and really less than that, but that seems to be about as drastic as it gets. . . Thompson/Wladimir is 90-10. . .

Guarantee him 3-5 million up front, and give the lil ***** 10%. . .

Nah, let Martinez come down and earn a title shot. What the hell did he ever do at 154?

    10%

That's a ***** move. Martinez earned the right to at least 20%.

Whatever hope/enthusiasm people had for this fight, died pretty quickly as soon as Cotto began bloodying Floyd’s nose. It was never going to happen in the first place, and thankfully Cotto reminded us why. Martinez is too big, strong and dangerous for any of the golden gooses at 154 to fight him.

Great fight if it happens but I'm sure health would come first. There will be no free buffets, free rooms, or free limo rides from the airport if this fight gets made.

    What? The Cintron fight?

Martinez doesn't even deserve 20%. I'd be surprised if Alvarez gets 25-30%, and he has a big fanbase.

Martinez brings what to the table exactly? No fanbase, no title, no PPV power, can't speak english.

Didn't Martinez get his nose broken by a domestic level fighter? A bloody nose is nothing in boxing. It happens all the time. None the less, this fight isn't happening. I don't see Mayweather fighting again this year unless it's against Pacquiao, which is highly doubtful.

What does Martinez bring to the table? Seriously. He's not even a hall of famer.

I would love to see this fight. It's the best fight that could be made in the sport.

I rather see how Martinez deals with Cotto first, who the hell has Martinez proven himself against, he has yet to fight an elite fighter

I think you’ve missed the point, but yes, Martinez did have his nose bust. However, I don’t think Martinez is being pushed to fight a dangerous opponent at a higher weight at a time when he feels his body is slowing down; allowing his opponents to get to him like never before. In just one night, Mayweather went from “I’ll be fighting 5 more times” to “I might retire now, I don’t know”. That fight with Cotto reminded him why it might not be a good idea to take on Martinez at 154. Understandably so.
