He wasn't gun shy and it wasn't big fight nerves that made him give such a poor performance.

It was a gameplan that went horribly wrong and he didn't have a plan B. He wanted stay out of range potshotting and he thought that would at some point get to Wlad's chin and knock him out or wobble him so he could go in for the kill.

The flopping was him trying to neutralise Wlad's dirty leaning tactics. It failed and made him look like a tit.


Basically my point is that it's unfair to act like he didn't give it a genuine go. He did but he was just found lacking severely (mainly in ring IQ/tactics).

 

Hamburg is a fantastic place, it should be on every man's bucket list.

In recent years I've followed the England football team to Moscow, Tel Aviv, Minsk, Skopje & many many more. Did I go just for the football???? NO CHANCE! Sport gives us an excuse to visit these places & 9 times out of 10 the event itself spoils a great trip.

 

boxnation has proven to be quality in terms of the fights they get and im glad i dont have to subscribe to sky sports or fork out fifteen quid now that theyve cut ppvs and less boxing, and i still get to see this fight. if they really push that they give genuine ppv fighters for no extra fee and show world championship boxing damn near every weekend, they might grab themselves some subscribers and a few punters on off

 

It's effectively PPV if you don't subscribe to BoxNation. Haven't I read that Frank is going to offer a once off payment offer to non-subscribers.

 

Same as Price-Sexton was effectively PPV or Eastenders is effectively PPV.

 

Its not PPV....its as daft as saying that every Saturday fight night on Sky is PPV.

No, you haven't read that.... given the circumstances it would be pretty idiotic to buy only the fight when you can get the whole month for a tenner.

 

To be fair the majority of my Haye posts have been written in the last few days and the number of posts escalated due to my views stirring up a bit of debate.

I've been bored of Haye since the Valuev fight and could't be bothered with him. I threw in a couple anti-Haye posts on the live threads and I was genuinely surprised at how people defended Haye. In other corners of the net he would not get such sympathetic views.


I honestly don't expect Haye to deliver a good fight. Hopefully there is a good undercard.

 

You get more than boxing on Sky Sports for you buck. I don't have Sky Sports myself.

For a casual fan, who ****** needs to make money, it will cost 10-15 quid to watch the fight.

 

You are a boring little man, aren't you? You're just another of the stream of anti-FW, anti-Haye whiners who think that Eddie Hearn and Sky will save boxing.

 

Even allowing for that minor difference (ie either way you are paying to watch boxing!) we are just back to the age old "Either pay it or don't" argument to PPV fights thats been done to death on here over the years.

I've never understood why people decide they arn't going to watch a PPV fight and then spend the next few months either telling everyone else not to watch it or calling those who are watching it idiots.

 

It's all freedom of choice alright. It's just I remember when paying to watch a fight was only for the premium level fights. I paid for Hatton fights when he was P4P because the event was worth it. Same with Calzaghe. Haye v Chisora just doesn't come close to something like a Cotto fight.

In terms of being negative to Haye I think it counterbalances Frank and Hayes big mouths. I just don't see it delivering. Recent form suggest Haye isn't a HW and will run around the ring.
