I wish it were Welliver instead, but I am backing Jon Banks for the KO win. He is much more skilled than Seth Mitchell and will land some bombs on Seth's chin. I don't think Seth will take those bombs too well. This is Banks vs Walker all over again. If Jon doesn't get sparked himself he will spark that arse.

Tiggy- Blevel....great win for a contender much less a prospect
Witherspoon C+level...better than the Gaverns and Dings and Palas, but not a contender. Still, excellent win for a prospect and a goods stay busy fight for a contender.
Banks.....B level............IF Mitchell wins this one....surely he's ready for the title shot. Not that he'll win, but he'll have beaten 3 consecutive stiff tests, which is far more than I can say for some contenders.:-(

Good fight in my view. Banks has good fundamentals - he's not exciting, but he's probably the best guy Mitchell has faced so far. Be interesting if Banks can take it into the later rounds.

I don't think he'll be ready. He has still gone a maximum of 8 rounds and only once at that - 3 years ago. He needs to know he can actually do it for 12 before he challenges for a title.

My initial thought when i saw this thread was Good Fight! I'm happy to see most feel the same.

Banks is schooled will be a good test for $.$. and will show him some moves if $uper $eth doesn't blow him out early. Good bit of matchmaking this.

he's a blown up cruiser..... its still a decent fight thought....banks has proved that blown up cruisers can beat alot of **** heavyweights and also prove that the NABF title means nothing the days when the last 3 guys that you fought for it were
    19-7 jason gavern
    52-15 saul montana
    20-9-1 nichola firtha

This is anything but a garbage fight. Banks won't wilt unless Mitchell brings his game. If Mitchell tries to phone it in he'll be in for a long night.

He's a C level guy, whereas his last opponent was a B- level guy; it's a step backwards which isn't what Seth needs if he wants to improve. . .

Like other posters have said, he needs some rounds. . .

Rather see him against someone like Arreola, but at least Mitchell is staying active.

    1. Yeah, everybody's a blown-up cruiser who fought there. Holyfield, Adamek, Haye, Banks, Gomez, Huck who arguably beat Povetkin recently. If you're a regular sized cruiserweight, you're a natural smaller heavyweight. Is Banks really that different in natural size to career heavyweight Eddie Chambers? Better yet, would you advise him to move back down to cruiserweight? I wouldn't. He's a heavyweight. 3 years, NABF title, wins over heavyweights I know like Walker, who I actually don't think is "****" (I think he's "okay"), I'm quite satisfied that he is a legit heavyweight, and arguably a top 25 one. Regardless, it's time to give up on the blown-up cruiserweight ****, in my opinion.

    2. NABF is not pointless at all. It's a good regional title and still serves as a nice stepping stone title. If a world title separates the men from the boys, the regionals like NABF and EBU separate the pre-pubescent boys from the pubescent boys. :blurp What are you supposed to expect? The opponents you listed are pretty run-of-the-mill standard for these kinds of titles and I've seen them put on some fair regional-level performances and Banks has not dropped any to them, right? :conf This is the level you fight at before that step up. It's not D and F guys. It's the C- and above league. And there's nothing wrong with that.

That same punch that hurt Mitchell would have floored WLad and you know it. Mitchell may have a weak chin but it is not near as bad as Wlads.

Banks is 6'3 and weighs in the 220s and has fought at heavyweight for 3 years. Blown up cruiserweight is a bit of an overstatement.

    Good fight.

Banks is a good test and a dangerous fighter. If Mitchell does not up his game he will get beat.
