I rewatched Hatton vs Mayweather, and noticed how Hatton actually put rounds in the bank, none debatable rounds.

It took Floyd 4 rounds just to get used to his frontal foot speed. It took Floyd about the 8th round, after putting body work early, To slow Hatton down and be able to time him.

Hatton might be grossly underrated because the way he went out. Prime Hatton would have Khan holding on for dear life. Between the body punching, frontal foot speed and pressure.

Hatton would make a classic with Tim Bradley & Maidana.

I say Prime Hatton still loses to Pac, but stays in the fight for a few more rounds. Just like Prime Cotto still loses to Floyd, but gives a better effort.

All in all just because Hatton went out on his back doesn't mean Cotto's effort was greater. I hate so called experts way of thinking. " toughest fight since Castillio" my ass.

I had Hatton winning 1 round like 2 of the 3 judges had.

You don't know how to score a fight, clearly.

I will go with, Hatton forced Floyd to fight at a more uncomfortable pace than Cotto did

However this did involve walking directly through punches which led to his downfall as they started to take their toll

I guess Ledderman doesn't know sh#t about scoring... he had Hatton up in the 6th. So did I.

Hatton fought about as well as he could have in that fight, but let's face it, he was aiming to spoil. It was his only chance , because he really was at every disadvantage.

Same here... that bull**** point deduction turned the fight around in my opinion. Hatton was well in the fight up until that point. He seemed to lose his head after that and the game plan that had been working went out the window

I disagree. Hatton won no more than one round at best against PBF.

From my memory it was Floyd doing all the spoiling (and i'm a PBF fan). He was using forearms, elbows, turning his back and ducking below the waist...none of which did he get warned for

I scored 1 round for Ricky and 2 rounds for Cotto. In both fights, there wre a lot of close rounds where Mayweather edged it out in the end with clean, effective punching. The big difference in both fights is that Cotto was able to land the better punches than Hatton, and displayed the better defense as well.
