The rounds were also more convincing. I'm a big Floyd fan, but don't forget Cortez was stoping Hatton from working on the inside.

Don't forget Cortez was ****ing up Hatton's game plan. Hatton won atleast 3 rounds. Cotto won 2 at most

the clinching was what made the fight reach the 10th. otherwise, hatton's face would have been peppered and he would have been ko'd much earlier.

Hatton did a better job of neutralizing Floyd with his bull rushes and smothering but he really wasn't mounting anything himself, I don't recall him landing much of note . Cotto at least landed some decent punches.

Floyd was doing his share, sure. But why? Ricky's punch/rush/wrestle. Which guy do you think would have preferred to fight at distance? if Hatton had tried to box Mayweather from outside he would have lost every minute of every round. So he did what he could do to get inside, but Mayweather was spoiling Hatton's spoiling tactics, if that makes any sense, lol.

I can't remember how many rounds I gave to Hatton, but the number of rounds you win doesn't always capture the texture of a fight. Hatton was backing Floyd up and smothering him against the ropes sometimes, but he barely landed any flush punches. Nearly every time he swung, Floyd would roll the shot. One of his best rounds was spent wrestling with Floyd and smothering him, but not doing much effective offence.

Cotto was very different. He was hitting Floyd with very clear, flush jabs to the face. (At one point he hit Floyd with three in a row.) He also landed far better body shots than Hatton, and while Floyd completely dominated Hatton in the latter portion of the fight, he didn't really get to that stage until the 12th round against Cotto. Hatton was rushing in with reckless pressure, while Cotto boxed in a far more intelligent way.

Lederman clearly doesnt know **** about scoring..That should have been obvious by now, especially since the 3rd JMM-Pac fight.

I gave Cotto 3 rounds. I don't remember giving Hatton that many, but I agree with some other posters that Hatton's foot speed made the fight very uncomfortable for Floyd through the first half, even though he was winning clearly.

No he wasn't wasn't. Watch that fight closley. 90 something % of the time Cortez broke them up, someone was in a head lock, an armbar, or being punched in the back of the head.
