I'm sure we don't need the same opinion on the subject every time he is mentioned. Especially as it isn't relevant to the OP.
In my line of work I see the 'race card' used every single day, and it is more often than not a pathetic attempt by an individual to get their way. It can be used in so many ways, from black to white / white to black, and various other ethnic backgrounds; it is also used used with every other form of diversity ie age, gender, sexual orientation, religion etc. It really annoys me when it is (as is so often) used inappropriately, and actually undermines the credibility of the group they are attempting to represent. I have seen alot of interviews of Steve Collins over the years, and have never read anything to suggest he is racist. I'm not saying he isn't, I would just like some more evidence that a brief line in an article before I pass judgement on the man.
Whether he is or not we don't know. What we do know, and the only reason Eubank has commented on this, is Collins beat Eubank-twice!
ive met collins,at turf moor, burnley football club, while both pissed, funnily enough i was with a black mate,he asked to sign his gloves for his kids(we were at a dinner show,he brought the gloves in)collins said " **** off p a ki,you getting **** all off me now **** off before i twat ya brown ass". now that is actually a load of bollocks,i kinda made it up,atsch,i know i know, you believed me:think,he actually said 'coarse i will mate, whats there names' and promptly put his arm around his shoulder and he got a photo. now, that there is one ****ing neo nazi pointy white hat wearing mudder ****er right there boys, racist twat :tired
Steve knew he could get to Chris mentally, doesn't make it right but some people will say things to get under other persons skin. He's mixed with black people all his career from U.S to Ireland to over here so it would be a shame if he really did have racist views.
hahaha if ya cant take things with a pinch of salt on here theres something wrong with ya but ya get what i was talking about
I've met Steve's brother Roddy. If you think Steve is a mouthy arsehole then you don't want to meet Roddy. Biggest loudest clown I've ever laid eyes on.
