Do you rate Andre Dirrell, and if so for what reasons?

Over and over again I hear Andre Dirrell mentioned in the same breath as top dogs at SMW, namely Ward, Bute and Kessler. I find this a bit strange. Andres best accomplishment is his DQ win over Arthur Abraham, a victory where he was knocked down and threw himself on the canvas to get away from the heat. It was not a very good performence compared with how Ward and Froch dealt with Abraham.

It's a good thing that Andre has recovered from the foul Abraham comitted, and hopefully he will give us some exciting fights. But this far he has accomplished little, so if you rate him why is that???

^^ Pretty much, the only problem with him he seems to have mental concentration lapses in the ring but that'll come better with more fights.

I dont think he showed lateral movement he just running away from Froch and AA.

Ring intelligence. :think . That was kind of intelligent when he threw himself on the canvas to get a DQ win.

Regardless, Andre Dirrell is the most athletically gifted boxer in the SMW division.

Bull****, i see 90% of people here call a fighters with good footwork runners, there is more to boxing than standing flat footed and brawling.
About Abraham fight,Andre gave him a lesson in boxing and also beat Froch but was robbed!

Dirrells ring intelligence is poor. Which was obvious when he fought Froch. But perhaps you can give him a pass for beeing a green fighter who faced world class for the first time in his career.

I think Dirrell actually has the tools to be top dog @ SMW. I do not think he was quite ready for prime time at the beginning of the S6. He was not acting against AA, I would like to see how anyone would react if they got punched in the head if it was served on a platter . . . let alone by one of the hardest punchers P4P. TBH, I do not think he will fully recover from that shot . . . I think he and Jermaine Taylor should seriously looking at hanging up the glove.

I have some early Dirrell fights and they are far more impressive than Ward's. Of course Andre Ward won the Olympic Gold and he has proven his boxing I. Q. by remaining undefeated and having won the Super-Six tourney but he never left his fortress or backyard, whateva you want to call it and Dirrel was not only robbed in the Uk but he was basically injured for real against the dirty AA. I believe Direll can beat either of the so-called top dogs in the right conditions and with the right mindset, box more, put em together, powerpunch instead of stealing rounds with his hadspeed and legs...

He's a mental train wreck. Doesn't have half the mental strength of his mate Ward, which you need to be consistant at Elite level.
