What's worse - punch punch hold or punch punch push?

    No, it's a legitimate question, both tactics are used to nullify inside fight, and both tactics are against the rules. It just seems that imo, excessive holding is deemed to be more acceptable then excessive pushing.

    Holding.

    It thwarts the action far worse. Pushing only momentarily halts it - a mere second or two - in an attempt to at least keep the fight at a reasonable range. Whereas holding straight up stops the other man from punching. It involves locking the arms and smothering; forcing the action to come to standstill for large portions of a sequence.

    Holding is so negative and kills the action whereas with a push you can create space to bang and can keep the fight flowing.

    Holding . . Pushing doesn't stop the action in the fight really. . . The other guy can take one step and be right back in his chest, or in punching range. . Action keeps up

    Pushing is allowed. I do it all the time on Fight Night to create space and i never get deducted points.

    Boxing would be a totally different sport when the referees actually acted against holding.
    Can you imagine the difference in Ward, Wlad, Ali and Hopkins fights that way?!

    At least with a push, both fighters hands are free and able to continue throwing. It's not as frustrating as being hugged with both arms trapped.

    Holding is ****ing horrible to watch. I don't really have an issue with pushing, but holding is constantly the reason behind bad fights.

    What annoys me is that referees refuse to punish it. Fighters should start getting disqualified for excessive holding.

    It does make you think. Alot of the great technical fighters have been able to dominate tronger inside fighters by having good spoiing tactics on the inside.

    Foyd is the master at tying boxers up if they get too close.

    Boxing would be a better sport IMO if it was punished more severely
