Roy Jones vs Calzaghe at their peaks. Objectively tell me...

Calzaghe agreed to fight Collins twice and twice Collins backed out. The first time Collins retired, the 2nd time he feinted in training and understandably didnt return.
Collins and Calzaghe were supposed to be on a double bill in tuneups. Calzaghe against Thornberry as a tuneup and Collins against someone else

 

If Collins agreed to fight Calzaghe twice but backed out both times, what makes you think he didn't back out against Roy Jones?

 

Collins backed out against Calzaghe, first time he retired, 2nd time he fell ill in training.
Collins pushed for Jones for a while and was even in the ring trying to get a fight with Jones.
General zods link shows you that Jones team were not interested in Collins

 

It's not a fair comparison to make, IMO. Roy was so much faster, punched harder and staighter, and was much more athletic. However, there is substantial evidence that all of those attributes were chemically enhanced.

Anybody who looks at film of the two will instantly see that Roy was on another level than Joe. But Joe, by all accounts, was operating sans steroids.

 

Joe Calzaghe was actually on steroids in the Lacy fight tho, he admits it in his book.

Drugs/testosterones didn't give Calz the adaptability or solid jab that he had. I still respect him as a fighter regardless if that's true or not and I'm sure some basher of Zaghe on here would spread this like wildfire had this happened. Was watching the Bika fight earlier today and also drugs/testosterones don't give you the heart he displayed. I'm a Roy/Floyd/JMM fan and bad results or not roids/testorones don't give you the skills they had.

 

Without me just answering. Ask yourself this. Calzaghes 0 was important to him. Do you think he would just put something in a book to discredit a very good win?
Calzaghe never tested positive for anything in his career
