He's gotta be. The only two boxers I can think of that comes close are Jones Jr. and Ottke. It's amazing to me how Ward could become the greatest SMW in such short time.

Ward is probably HOF bound already.

lost creditability when you mentioned Ottke.

Ward is neither HOF nor ATG but he has the time to be both and potentially the best SMW. Thats three big ifs.

But - and importantly - he has done the more than any other SMW in just that division at this stage of their careers. So he is the greatest accomplished at this career stage at SMW.

If Ward retired today he wouldn't be HOF bound... wouldn't call him the greatest SMW either

    No mention of Joe Cal

    hes the best

Ward just unified 2 belts and has yet to defend his unified crown, needs to face Bute

You're wrong on both counts. Have you looked at some of the boxers in the HOF? Yea...Ward is definitively in. Already.

Yea, Ward is the greatest SMW based off the fact he just conquered pretty much everybody in the Showtime's tourney and Ward takes the toughest challenges.

    Ward is cool. :good

yep, def Joe accomplished more than any other.

Although only with one belt, and the crappy WBO one at that. Andre has two already, and the major ones at that.

Why do I get the sense that this thread is wholly sarcastic?

 Beating, Kessler and Froch doesn't erase the stain of him ducking Dirrell or Bute. Sorry, no.

He won't be remaining in the division long enough to grab that status.

i thought he had all 4 at one point or another

Lacys IBF then stripped to Bute

Kesslers WBC and WBA then stripped or relinquished

no, he held more than one in his last ever SMW fight and never even defended his Kessler titles - which is where Ward is at now with loads more fights to come. So it hardly counts, although Kessler was a good win for him.
But yeah still Zaghes the most accomplished, in a division thats as yet full of indistinguihsed SMW records.
