I want Froch to win badly too, but it is difficult to see what departments he trumps Bute in, if any. Only way I see Froch winning is if Bute gasses in the championship rounds and Carl manages to hurt him. Big ask but never say never ...

    Sure Froch can win!

Imagine this: Froch starts very aggressively before Bute has a chance to get his bearings (Bute takes 3-4 rounds to get into a fight). Froch rushes Bute behind the long jab, Bute jumps back in a straight line, Froch catches Bute with a big loopy cross and then a left hook and then an uppercut. All in the first minute. Bute stupidly tries to clinch (ineffectively) and Froch pushes him off and goes in with the uppercut again, and then some hooks to the body, and then a big right and then some more head-hunting. Crowd goes crazy. Bute still confused after the break. Same thing happens in rounds 2 and 3 - Froch gets a stoppage win. Froch T/KO 3

If the fight gets into the championship rounds, Bute won't get stopped, in my view. Froch isn't good enough to keep beating Bute up for more than a few rounds - by then, Bute would be into his game. Don't read too much into Andrade 1.

Saying that, I've never seen Froch start so fast and so strong, except against Pascal, and even then, he missed a lot because he was loading up way too much. They both gassed quickly.

But I think it's Froch's best strategy. I don't think Froch can beat Bute just by boxing. Also, Bute's chin is too good to get him stopped off a one-off bomb from Froch.

Is it possible for the officials to change at this stage to allow Dave Parris to referee and judge the fight by himself?

Everyone does well against Bute in the first 2-3 rounds. Bute looks almost average until he gets going. Here's Froch's big chance. Will he have the courage to stake it all on these three rounds and go for broke? That's the big question.

Well worth seeing, particularly if you compare it with Froch vs. Johnson.

Also check out the Bika fight if you have time. Very relevant this time around, I think.

someone put on some other thread that carl was making a huge mistake by saying he was hoping to start fast and give his all from the off....i think the opposite, its a good tactic, if that tires either of them it'll be bute....and like a previous poster on this thread said it'll be the late rounds where bute might gas

saying all that i fully expect bute to win, i think he'll half cripple froch with body shots...and whats more i think he's the best super middle of the lot of 'em

I think if Froch starts fast and takes it to 8th and beyond that will be his time im sure Bute will gas, the heat in there will be immense, its going to be a tough fight for both men..

I think people are underestimating Bute's stamina...and I can't see why. It's not like Froch is the most active fighter out there...:think

The biggest factor in the fight for me is going to be Bute's nerves and the crowd and the way Froch starts off the back of that. Bute sometimes wastes a lot of nervous energy by being too excited/nervous. This is why I think Froch should go for broke from the first bell.

He's not the most active but he is super fit at the weight if there are any issues with Bute at the weight they will be exposed come saturday night.
I think its Bute who's got to start quickly as if this goes late i fancy Froch..
Bute is a talented guy but he is there to be hit not like Ward, this is going to be a great fight. I love the way Bute stands and trade this is why this has the potential for fight of the year.

I fully expect Froch to hit Bute clean at times and shake him up a bit, making it tense and rough a times, but I'd be really disappointed if it turns out a FOTY candidate.

Remember that Froch cannot afford to jump in like he has done against every single one of his opponents, including, at times, against Ward, without paying for it more than usually.

If Bute cannot deal with Froch reasonably comfortably, winning clearly, he's overrated. Simple as.

I'm interested in seeing how Froch deals with movement and angles and speed, and how the battle of the jabs unfolds. Also interested to see if Froch can force Bute to back up in a straight line, whether he can get Bute cornered, whether his short, sharp hooks are effective and whether he'll decide to box or go full out looking for the T/KO.
