It all depends on how Calzaghe would perform, he had some shockers in his career but even on an off night would have enough to edge Froch.

    Calzaghe 9-3/8-4 type decision.

No way Joe could handle the jab and sizzling reflexes of the Cobra!

Froch has got where he is through his size, strength, heart, amateur pedigree, stamina and chin, Calzaghe had all that + speed, boxing ability, southpaw stance, amazing footwork and adaptability. I just think Froch has little to no advantage in this 1, yes he is gamer in the fights he takes but a league below in ability.

54 minute mark. Nelson finishes talking to McCrory, Watt and Dark. Camera pans to Smith. Smith says in a deep voice, "Intriguing thoughts from the guys".

    Just a weird moment.

Calzaghe boxed up to the level of his opponents, the bigger the task the better the performance.

 I think Joe would beat Froch by decision but he would have a few uncomfortable moments on the way.. Joe had a pretty good chin like Froch..

It'd look like the Lacey fight.

Joe would of probably ended Carl's career.

It'd be nothing like the Ward/Froch fight! Joe was a mean son of a ***** when he wanted to be, he'd of put a beating on Froch so badly it'd be a career ending fight for Carl.

    Behave man, that's total nonsense.

I think Joe would win comfortably but there's no way he'd give Froch a Lacy style beating.

Froch is better than that, way better.

The only thing to say positively for Froch is that Joe has had slight problems with rough type fighters before(Bika, Reid). I should imagine Froch would probably land the odd big right hand but that he would be soundly outpointed.

He got lucky a couple of times when it was close. It wasn't always a case of "found a way to win".

A prime Chris Eubank had heart, power & chin in abundance, & like Froch wasnt blessed with blazing handspeed.
A past his prime & weight drained Chris Eubank took Joe Calzaghe to hell & back...

This would have been one helluva fight. Pity Calzaghe took the easy option & retired when Froch was calling him out.
