Do you honestly think Froch could have beaten Calzaghe?

 

Enough of this 'joe had off nights' shite! We're talking both in there prime on there best night, it's a clear points win for calzaghe! But not quite a lacy beat down, the thing is calzaghe was great at adapting and changing his game plan, Froch doesn't seem to have that at all, even if he was to box smart like he did with abraham, joe is a completely different fighter!

We need flea man on here to set everyone straight.

 

Calzaghe had just beaten the best 175 fighter on the planet.

Froch had just beaten somebody who had fought one 6 rounder in four years.

The difference between Calzaghe and Froch is almost night and day IMO.

I like Froch, alot actually, I have every one of his fights and you pretty much know that he will give it his all in a fight, I think he would give just about any Super Middle from the past twenty years a good fight, and I think he is one of he best fighters from our shores over the past quarter of a century.

However..........

Joe Calzaghe is an all time great IMO, and is argubably the greatest boxer this country has ever produced.

I think that what he achieved, particularly considering his injury problems was exceptional, and he will surely be remembered as a legend of the sport.:bbb

 

Eubank wasn't weight drained??...but weighed in 20Lbs heavier for his next fight just a few months later. Eubank was a shadow of his former self at the time he fought Calzaghe and never won another fight. They say that timing is everything in boxing and Calzaghe sure knew how to time a fight to get the name on his record.

 

Calzaghe gets the blame the Collins dropped out, and Eubank accepted?

People forget, a very,very green Calzaghe was willing to get in there with a 'peak' Collins.

 

Not saying that....its just too many people hold up a Eubank win as an example of his greatness when its just not true. Eubank in his pomp would not have been made to look average by Joe, let alone been put down twice.

 

I suppose that this "peak" Collins retired in fear rather than get in the ring with the young lion?

A Collins win would have done far more for him. A kid who had been past four rounds only three times signing to fight a fella off the back of Eubank and Benn wins would be massively lauded.

Kessler v Froch was a close, clear win for Kessler between two similar fighters.

I think it would be a rerun of the Calzaghe v Kessler fight. Competitive but clear for Joe. The poor Reid-esque performances were quite early in his career.
