Wow--Joe's win against Ali is better than ANYTHING Floyd has ever done.

He was also brutally knocked out twice by George Foreman, but this is ESB where losing badly does not mean anything. I mean hey you got their name on your resume right

Smokin Joe fellas. Lets get real... Everybody fought 8x's per year back in the 60's. And Joe's physical peak was from 65 - 70! And there was nobody with that type of skill in the HW division (Ali excluded but lost his license).

He fought everybody. Ellis, Bonavena, Mathis, Jones, Foley, Machen.. Everybody who could clean your clock and he sustained nothing but wins.

This kinda boxing mindset and tenacity never even existed in the 70's. Plus you could see boxing on TV every night. And, that was before cable was in every household!!

By a long, long way. I think there's an argument to be had here.

Well I'd have to agree with you there. However, let it be duly noted when Ali came back to fight Quarry when his license was reinstated, it was quite obvious that the legs had been seriously affected and the handspeed also.

He was a much different fighter from the superior athletic specimen that fought from 60 - 67. Much slower and with half the movement. Floyd has a lot more movement now compared to early in his career than Ali did.

However, let it also be noted that Ali had much better (more accurate) and faster handspeed than Floyd even at HW and a hellava a lot better footwork than Floyd. Ali's defense was impeccable in the 60's as you can see in the first Liston fight. Skills wise there's no comparing anybody to Ali in his prime post 1970. Nobody!

Yeah because Floyd's fought the equivalent of a George Foreman, who is a top 5 ATG heavyweight. Having said that Floyd's clearly a better far more adaptable fighter. He just lacks a win as big as Ali who is arguably the second greatest fighter ever.

Frazier has argueably the greatest victory in boxing history..
But Floyd's consistency and wins over multiple HOF'ers gives him the nod imo..

He lost to another ATG fighter in prime...I'am big Floyd fan but he did not face any ATG fighters when they were even close to prime.
Its close but i would not rank Floyd above Frazier that easy!
