Well, Floyd has the more consistent career, but Frazier has the more historical name and the better win, a win that Floyd would only ever come close to by beating Pacquiao or Martinez in dominant fashion, and only then.. he gets just close.

It's not like he fought Ali at the end of his career. Ali, at that point, is better than any 3 wins on Floyd's resume.

He fought in the best era of HW boxing, the very BEST era.

If Floyd fought during the golden era of WWs he'd have assembled a few losses, I am sure of it.

Frazier fought better opposition - that cannot even be argued. However Mayweather has got his 0 intact. It's real close in my oppinion, Mayweather perhaps just shades it, but if he gets in there with Pacquiao or Martinez and looses, I'd have to go with Frazier. Contrarywise, should he win he would be ahead by some distance.

Yeah, he's maintaining his 0 by fighting in a weak-ish era at WW.

History will remember both Joe and Floyd, and thats really all that matters, there is a good saying by Rocky Marciano "You can only strive to be the best in your era". Which is very much true, Floyd is the very best in his era, Frazier was the very best in his era for a short period of time, which was a bloody great era.

Both men command respect and go down as HOFers and ATGs.

Tricky choice, arguable either way. Unfortunately for Floyd I'm not sure that even beating Pac would give him a win on the same magnitude as Frazier beating Ali. Floyd is obviously an exceptionally talented fighter, the best of this generation most likely. Despite any claims of him not fighting boxer 'x' or 'y' in their prime it is still clear how good he really is, he has just taken a slightly easier route at times (like almost everyone else).

It's not entirely surprising to see some Floyd fans focussing on how many losses someone has, rather than who they have beat. Both are part of a resume, and having one of the best wins of all time is worth a hell of a lot more than losses to someone who is your stylistic nightmare.

Frazier is the only one with a win over prime Ali or as close to Ali prime as possible and that out ranks any of Floyds wins

A case can be made for Joe here, but a case built almost entirely on a single win is always a weak one. Buster Douglas and Max Schmeling have far better single wins than Mayweather as well.

Mayweather has a deeper resume, has sustained top level success for a considerably longer time, and remains unbeaten. Peak for peak, he's also likely the better fighter straight up, and his weight-jumping feats are not to be ignored. I love Joe, and certainly like him a hell of a lot more than Floyd, but a single win - no matter how great - shouldn't eclipse all of that.

Mayweather isn't half the man Frazier is.

Frazier Ali the greatest dual in history

mayweather has none of that sh*t and never will unless he and Pac get it on

Disgust's me to see people say Mayweather :verysad

Imagine you have to pick which guy's history to erase like he never stepped foot in the ring... Who'd you pick Frazier or Mayweather?... Your nuts if you pick Mayweather
