Suppose it was the 1997 David Tua that fought Muhammad Ali in 1971 instead of Joe Frazier. How does it go? Before you Tua-haters laugh at me, remember that David and Ike set the record for the most punches thrown in a heavyweight fight that night. Also, David had a harder left hook than Frazier, and Ali was always vulnerable to left hookers. The Ibeabuchi fight was probably David's best performance...ironic that he lost the fight. How does he do against the Muhammad Ali of 1971?

Ali by decision. Tua dosen't equate to the non-stop, almost inhuman, undiscourageable machine that was FOTC Joe Frazier.

    Ali by wide decision.

Power was irrelevant against Ali; One of the best chins in the history of boxing, and one of the hardest wills.

What made FOTC Frazier so incredibly was his energizer bunny defense; He was ducking and weaving constantly, always in motion. He actually made Ali miss and pay many times, and every time Ali got rocked was either a perfect counter or off an Ali miss.

Ali wouldn't miss Tua with those long, rapid combinations. And thus, he'd outpoint him easily, as he would never lose control of the fight.

And look at Joe's face after that...Tua, as well, would have been, in the words of Howard Cossell, "a bloody pulpy, mess"

Kudos to fighters with iron chins, stamina, and grittiness, but the result would have been the same.

    Totally different levels.

Ali would get Tua out of there as well. 15th round, Ringo style.

Because this would be Tua's most important fight in his career and since he would be up against a clearly great opponent, I expect him to balloon up in weight and come in underprepared, then fight 15 lackluster rounds just keeping his guard up and occasionally lunging like a novice.

Ali wins 15 rounds to nil.

This cutting-edge moronic post represents d reason 4 this idiot's vCash in its finest :yep

no doubt u exceeded yourself in this 1

1ce Ali tries 2 Bonavena Tua he gets caught nothing like he was by Frazier/Cooper/Jones , and only Allah himself knows d end , but then Ali probably wouldn't have tried it .

  12. If Tua cant win by KO,he's not gonna outpoint Ali.
Tua couldn't KO glass chin Lewis so he will really not KO Iron Chinned Ali.
Ali would be smackin' that big bald head all night.

Tua wouldn't be able to pull the trigger half as much against a mobile fighter like Ali. Why would we be Tua haters if we laugh at you? I love Tua but this is a ridiculous thread. The 2nd most ridiculous thing I've seen on here today after someone else said Marciano could make 160.:lol::lol::lol::rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl
