If Bute Wins, Haters (Like Me) Should Agree He Is The Best At SMW

I'm a bit of a Bute hater (I don't hate him - I just like Froch and Ward much more), but if Lucian beats Froch in Nottingham, then I'll have to admit that he is the best at the weight class.

With a win like that, Bute's best 3 wins would be Froch, Bika and Johnson.

Ward's best 3 wins are Froch, Kessler and Bika.

The fact that Bute left Canada to beat Froch in England would hold a lot of sway in the comparison, and I would put Bute slightly above Ward, also because he was more impressive against common opponents Bika and Miranda.

Would you other Bute haters eat some humble pie and do the same?:think

Regardless of who the winner is, Ward will still be the best SMW in the world.

Not sure about that but if Bute managed to beat Froch very impressively (by KO or more dominant than Ward) than I would regard them both as sort of equals. Not a Bute hater btw quite the contrary, just wanted to give my opinion on this.

If Bute wins he can consider himself the second best in the division, to get to number 1 he has to beat Ward.

If Bute wins then no one will disagree that he is the best SMW in the world. Ward is the best SMW in Oakland but we haven't seen him fight anywhere else, the knacker ****.

I still have Ward at number one if Bute wins. But, it's very close. They would have to fight each other as there wouldn't be a clear champion in the division.

I basically agree with this, if and its a big if Bute does beat Froch as impressively as Ward did then i'll rate them at about the same level. They should then fight each other to decide the number 1

I still have Kessler and Ward ahead.

That fight needs to happen on neutral ground

Disagree. Ward's win over Kessler is much better than any of Butes because: a) Kessler beat Froch. b) Kessler is elite and had only been defeated once before. Ward's win over Froch is also better than Bute's (potential) win because Froch was not coming off a loss. It would still be a great win for Bute, no doubt, but it doesn't make him the best.
