I'm happy for Froch, but he wouldn't beat Calzaghe no would he beat Ward in a rematch.

 

Greater legacy yes IMO.

Would pick Joe on points all day though.

 

No way....props to Froch, I like the guy he BRUTALIZED Bute tonight but no.

Calzaghe never got totally dominated in any fight like Froch did against Ward. And
calling Calzaghe a "standup fighter" shows complete misinformation about Calzaghe's style of boxing, which was best described as a kangaroo punching you in the face while he hops around. I don't know who would win, Joe or Andre and we'll never know, but
right now, Froch is not quite up there with Calzaghe. Almost, not quite.

 

Froch has built himself a very nice legacy and can retire at any time and be happy with what he's done but Calzaghe's win over an ATG in the midde of his best career run while moving up in weight on away turf + longevity of his reign at 168 clearly puts him ahead of Froch.

 

Calzaghe with that work rate, heart and speed would have been a nightmare for Froch too. Would have been a classic. Still think Calzaghe gets a clear UD 118-113 or something like that. Too quick for froch who is too easy to hit for a fast skilled guy although every round would have been competitive. Ward Calzaghe would be interesting in that it'd be hard to pick a winner but the fight would be horrible to watch stylistically.

 

First of all Froch lost to an inferior Kessler than Calzaghe beat and kessler in my opinion would still beat Carl in a rematch
Bute was way overrated, his defence went on holiday after the first round
Andre Ward completely outboxed Froch when they fought and I dont see any rematch changing that.
Froch also had the benefit of a tournament like the super six to face these opponents who had to face each other
I wish that tournament was around when you had the super middles like Hopkins, Eubank, Jones, Calzaghe etc what a super six that would have made :thumbsup
Froch will now obviously target Kessler, while Ward will go onto light heavy to campaign

 

If Byron Mitchell can floor a prime Calzaghe then you can be damn sure Carl Froch could too. And possibly stop him in the ensuing war.

Calzaghe was sweating one out on Ringside the other day talking about Froch. He doesn't even like to mention his name, and that is because Froch is the complete antithesis to Calzaghe in that he has consistently faced the best and Calzaghe knows it.

In a funny sort of way, Froch has exposed Calzaghe without even fighting him.

Whilst all the UK commentators were crooning about how Froch's performance was right up there with Hatton-Tzyu and Bruno-McCall, poor old Calzaghe's name wasn't mentioned once.

I think you're out of touch: Calzaghe and Froch get on well now. They've spoken many times and tweet each other now and again. Calzaghe even predicted Froch to stop AA on his twitter.

Did you see Ringside on sky sports the other day? You know the episode where Calzaghe was undermining all of Froch's achievements, barely giving him any credit and picking Bute to win? Out of touch my arse :deal
