He would have dominated Bute utterly. Had he went for it instead of talking about "Bute has to earn his shot" he would have looked great. Instead Froch got the honour. Thats what you get for acting all high and mighty

What the hell are you talking about? That just goes to show that Ward was right on the money about Bute. When this settles down everyone will realise what a lot have known about Bute, that he just isn't world class and he can't take a punch.
Bute hadn't beaten anybody and Ward stated that he had to earn a shot. That's not being high and mighty, that's just telling it like it is. As we saw Bute got plastered by a guy who was lucky to make the super six final after being gifted against Dirrell.

Ward wanted an easy fight after the grueling Super Six. So it suited him fine that Bute took on Froch. Ward and his trainer wanted a chance to study Bute against a good opponent. That would also help to build up the hype for Ward vs Bute.

Then Showtime told Team Ward they aint airing no tune ups.

And Bute and Froch included a rematchclause, meaning Ward could not wait out the winner.

Thus Ward went for Dawson instead. It can all turn out to the best for him. Froch beating Bute confirms Ward is the man at 168. If he can do a number on Dawson his stock will be really high.

I agree Ward f'ed up here. This would have been an easy night for Ward and added to his resume. Instead he lets Froch get all the credit.

Bute hasn't fought the type of competition the super 6 had. He was considered as good as the others unfairly.

This should be a lesson to ALL fighters... the best should fight the best! Tune-up fights dont help your resume! Floyd has been on a 5 year tune-up binge before fighting my man Cotto. Wlad needs to step it up and fight HW's, not blown up CW's. Chavez Jr is 45-0... time to step it up.

Ward should have stopped Bute and moved up to fight b-hop and dawson.

    Congrats to Froch! jah bless

Yes, but I've never claimed to be Nostradomous and have no problem giving Froch credit.

Isn't he making Dawson come down to 168?

    Ward did not lose anything.

He was spot on by pointing out the fact that Bute had to prove himself an entity in the division.
Ward-Dawson will be something unique for us real boxing fans.

Why would Ward be kicking himself? His victory over Froch looks even better now. Not only that, but he's fighting Dawson. Many people thought Dawson was better than Bute, before Bute got exposed by Froch.

Yeah, Ward kinda' ****ed up there. He should have been the one to have exposed Bute. Sitting at home saying "I told you so" doesn't do jack all for your legacy compared to actually stepping in the ring and beating up a person who many regarded your nearest challenger. Now, a man who he pissed on for 12 rounds is getting all the accolades and respect from fans, while he's on the outside looking in.

Gutted. This should have been Ward's moment.

So people actually think it would be better for Ward to have exposed an unproven fighter rather than fight a proven fighter who's ranked in many people's top 10 p4p in the form of Dawson?

I think he should be glad for Froch having done more than half of his job...
