Im familiar with failry recent and popular instances like khan vs Judah (debateable haha dont start) Hopkins vs De La Hoya, various Mickey ward fights, cant think of any others. All eras and weight classes are welcome, especially 1950s and before since I admittedly know less about those fighters. Also fighters with iron ribs or whatever you want to call fighters who could withstand extreme punishment to the body. A modern example for me being Ruddock vs Tyson. Razor survived some devastating body shots, as did Ali against Foreman. Thoughts?
Floyd Patterson and David Tua both scored one-punch knockouts with their left hooks... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hV3kFUfLbw[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQMtRvr7BDM[/ame]
Gatti-Dorin Gatti-Suero Jones - Wolfe Charles - Marshall Olivares - Ramirez (alas, there's no footage) Golota - Dixon
Ok, I might get blasted on this one because I'm working from memory of a fight I watched back in '82. As I recall, then undefeated and rising MW star Alex Ramos was fighting a club fighter named Ted Sanders, and winning handily until a freak blow to the heart put Alex down for the count. This is the way I remember it, but I have never been able to find any vid of the fight.
Gerald McClellan was very good with stopping guys to the body. This KO is sick: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=micoh6W5hzs[/ame]
I saw Antonio Margarito when he was 18 against Alfred Ankamah, at The Forum in LA. Ankamah was 14-2 with 14kos and he hit Margarito in the liver with a vicious left hook. Margarito folded up, went down on his knees with his forehead on the canvas. It was a fight ending body punch. but he got up and stopped Ankamah in the next round. I've always had a ton of respect for margarito since then.
