Anything else won't matter. Ward won't take the fight against him after what happened, and with very good reason. Don't care much about Pascal or going up at 175 even if he will have more success up there.
I say take on Froch again and prove it to yourself and the world you're still a top fighter or take on the men who beat the men and might still take a fight with you.

Bute took a heavy beating off Froch, the type that can really affect a fighters career. He needs to take a few confidence builders back in the hometown ring before even attempting to face another top 10 fighter. Surprisingly enough, I still reckon Bute style would make an interesting match up against Ward.

Bute should not consider retiring yet. There is no shame in getting beaten by one of the best in the world. He should go back to Canada, take a fairly easy fight and look for a big fight with Kessler/Froch winner (assuming they fight again) or Ward.

Bute is still relevant at 168. Its just Froch's style and power is not good for him. He may very well have more success against Ward and Kessler.

Bute has talked about being the best SMW, he should aim for that and this is the only way. He's 32 and doesn't have time for easy fights or built up confidence fights. Those type of fight ain't re-building you as a new fighter. THESE type of fights are upgrading your level. Make you more hungry and make you work harder.

    Easier said than done.

That was a career-shattering type defeat he experienced last night. All that confidence he had has probably vanished now. This was the first time he stepped out of his comfort zone against a top 3 opponent, and got brutally exposed for it. He's doubting his abilities more than ever now. The last thing that should be thrusted on him is to go back out there and fight the closest dangerous opponent available.

He at least needs a couple of confidence builders.

I feel Froch has unfinished business with Dirrell.

Dirrell has the technique and physical attributes in abundance, but he has no heart.
A rematch would be much like the first fight.........Dirrell running for his life and then grabbing Froch at every opportunity,or maybe he'll dominate Froch for 9 rounds, then take a dive when he starts to tire and get caught as he did against Abraham.

You don't believe, but Froch does. Froch knows his hometown cooking stole the win from Dirrell.

To this day no one beat Froch up as badly as Dirrell did.

All 3 options are ****. He should have 2 or 3 confidence builders in Canada and attempt it at the top level again.
